Anton Du Beke struggled to fight back tears as his children shared an adorable message on Life Stories.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 57, was grilled by Kate Garraway on the ITVX show on Wednesday during which his wife Hannah Summers revealed his initial reluctance to start a family.

Hannah, who now shares twins George and Henrietta, six, with the professional dancer, said he ‘hadn’t given much thought’ to fatherhood before they embarked on IVF treatment to conceive.

Wiping away tears, an emotional Hannah explained: ‘I don’t think he thought it was something he wanted to do but creating his own family and how much they love him has been magical for him.’

After showing a montage of pictures of their children supporting their dad behind-the-scenes at Strictly, George and Henrietta melted everyone’s hearts with a message.

They told Anton via video link: ‘Hi daddy, you know we love you and we like your dancing a lot.’

Back in the studio with the Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, Anton admitted he hadn’t contemplated started having children before he ‘met the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with’ Hannah.

Choking up, Anton described himself as ‘the luckiest guy’ for having his family.

Anton has been married to marketing professional Hannah since 2017 after six years of dating.

Though keeping their relationship quite private, Anton opened up about first meeting Hannah on the Channel 4 show Steph’s Packed Lunch in 2021.

He said: ‘She was sat across a big table at a do and I thought, wow she is absolutely outrageous… She went off to the loo as one does. Outrageously, I followed her! She went into the ladies and I waited outside for her. I’m staggered she actually spoke to me.’

Anton added: ‘She came out she looked at me and went “have you been waiting outside the ladies for me?” and I went “Yes, It’s because I love you.”’

The dancer also revealed during the episode of Life Stories that he was stabbed by his alcoholic father on Boxing Day and spent three days in hospital recovering from the attack.

Kate Garraway’s Life Stories is available to stream on ITVX.
