50 Cent‘s long-delayed record, Street King Immortal, will not be seeing the light of day.
In a recent interview with The Independent, 50 confirmed that he is shelving his supposed sixth studio album after spending a decade in limbo. “That original version is not [being released],” he said, “but I’m releasing new music in September.” He further confirmed that the upcoming project will unfortunately not include a feature from Eminem, “I didn’t finish the tracks with him… I’m not gonna tell who’s on it because I’m the most exciting person [on the album].”
Street King Immortal was initially slated for a release as early as 2011, and was meant to follow 2009’s Before I Self Destruct (Animal Ambition was released instead in 2014). Fif then went on to announce several release dates throughout the years, including dates in 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017, the latest, but it never materialized.
Stay tuned for more info on 50 Cent’s forthcoming record.
Elsewhere in music, Kanye West shared details for another DONDA listening event in Atlanta.
