Jamie Demons-King claims in her Instagram Story that the ‘Murder on My Mind’ rapper’s trial in a double murder case has taken a toll on her health before deleting the app.
AceShowbiz -Being a supportive mom to YNW Melly amid his tribulation is clearly not easy. The rapper’s mother Jamie Demons-King claims that she’s forced to quit social media after her son’s ongoing double murder trial has taken a toll on her health.
On Monday, June 19, Jamie took to Instagram Story to announce that she’s quitting the platform after having a heart attack due to stress from Melly’s trial. “I’m deleting the app,” she wrote in the rant. “I can’t be crying and making myself upset because of a lying clout chaser who won’t show his face in court but care so much.”
“I had 1 heart attack already because of stress,” Jamie further stated. “I refuse to let this kill me I try to be peaceful and respectful to all of you. I pray for everyone because I know it’s the right thing to do.”
Jamie’s Instagram account has not been deleted altogether, but she has not updated her page since then.
Melly, born Jamell Maurice Demons, is accused of fatally shooting his childhood friends Anthony D’Andre Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy), who were part of the YNW hip-hop collective. He is facing a possible death sentence for the October 2018 fatal shooting.
Following multiple delays, jury selection for Melly’s double murder case finally began on April 11 and the trial kicked off on June 12. After only one week of trial, Melly’s lead attorneys wanted the trial thrown out and filed a motion for a mistrial.
However, on Tuesday, June 20, Judge Murphy III reportedly denied the motion for a mistrial, meaning the trial will continue for the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, a juror was reportedly hospitalized on Thursday after suffering dehydration, but the trial was scheduled to resume at around 1:30 P.M. EST.
