Giovanni Pernice, 31, and Rose Ayling-Ellis, 27, made Strictly Come Dancing history on the latest season of the show, with Rose being not only the first deaf contestant, but the first to win the show. Giovanni took to his Instagram tonight to share that he had “swapped” Rose for someone else for tonight’s Birmingham show.
Where’s Rose?

Giovanni lifted the Glitterball last year for the first time, having previously made it to the final three times.
Rose and Giovanni formed a “connection” whilst on the show, with Giovanni even getting a tattoo dedicated to their win.
However, the Strictly professional took to his Instagram story this evening to reveal that Rose was not taking part in tonight’s Newcastle show.
In view of his 797,000 followers he posted the selfie video.
Giovanni said: “So Newcastle, we got the last show and unfortunately Rose couldn’t do the show tonight, for some reason.
“So, I swapped for somebody else and it’s actually one of the ABBA members.”
The camera then moved to Rose in the background, doing the traditional ABBA dance moves whilst singing the group’s hit Dancing Queen.
Giovanni then moved the camera back to his face as he repeated: “Where’s Rose? Where’s Rose?”
The Italian-born dancer has previously said the pair won the show due to their “connection”, not their dancing routines.
He told The Sun that he and Rose had bonded from the first day they met in rehearsals.
The Strictly professional said: “It’s more about the connection. It’s been good from day one.
“We understood each other. We didn’t have much pressure about winning the show.
“And I was more relaxed in the teaching this year.”
Since last week, the pair have been on the road when the Strictly Come Dancing tour kicked off its first set of shows at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.
The tour made its stop in Newcastle today, with another show scheduled in the city tomorrow before the cast makes their way to Manchester for two more shows.
Following their win, Rose declared Giovanni will “always have a piece of my heart”.
Giovanni followed suit as he gushed about the actress in his speech.
“Incredible. I have to say thank you to this beautiful young lady who made all my dreams come true,” he said.
“It took me seven years to get that thing, and you became the best dancer, the best teammate I could have asked for.
“You are a dream, so thank you for everything.”
