TV star looks unrecognisable in a brown curly wig and conservative dress – but can you guess who it is?
A TV star looked worlds away from her usual self on Monday as she transformed into Queen Elizabeth II for a new West End show Diana: The Musical.
The ITV star left fans doing a double take as she gave a first glimpse of herself in her new role on X, formerly known as Twitter.
She dressed very sophisticated in the picture wearing a grey blazer over a blue top and a grey checked midi skirt.
The former Coronation Street actress added a pair of black heels to the costume and accessorised by layering a pearl necklace and added a dazzling broach.
To complete her stage ensemble, she covered her short grey locks with a curly brunette wig. But can you guess who the famous star is?

That’s right, it’s Denise Welch! The Loose Women star as she usually looks (pictured July 2023)
It’s Denise Welch who is portraying the late monarch.
On Monday night, Denise took to the stage at the Hammersmith Apollo in London for the show’s opening night.
The West End musical is described as telling the ‘dazzling and devastating’ life of Princess Diana in an original musical.
It comes as Denise was forced to assure fans she is very much still alive and well after finding herself at the centre of a death hoax on Sunday.
Loose Woman star Denise’s Wikipedia page was updated at the weekend with a paragraph which read: ‘Denise Welch sadly was killed after being ran over by Kerry Riches’ mobility scooter after it was hijacked in a drunken rampage by Farida Khalifa, hair and make up artist for the traveller and gypsy community.’
Meanwhile, the bizarre page edits also stated Denise was born on the Hollyoaks set in February this year despite the star leaving her role as Trish Minniver in the soap in January 2022, 13 months before Denise’s apparent birth.
The claims soon meant Denise’s name was trending on X, formerly known as Twitter.
She wrote alongside her latest post: ‘And we’re off!! Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated #dianathemusical’
Denise had also taken to Twitter on Sunday to deny she was dead, assuring fans she was well and settling in at home to watch ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Now don’t get me wrong I don’t like the woman but let’s be fair this is highly impressive.’
‘I enter the cinema for about three hours and in the meantime Denise Welch has died and risen again. Alleluia alleluia, give thanks,’ joked someone else.
Another amused social media user wrote: ‘Whoever is editing Denise Welch’s Wikipedia page is having a ball. Apparently she was born on 31st February 2023 in the Hollyoaks set and she’s a presenter on Loose They/Them.’
