Taryn Manning DEFENDS Danny Masterson after rape conviction saying ‘he made a mistake’ as she SLAMS Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis for backtracking on their support
Orange Is the New Black star Taryn Manning is defending Danny Masterson, after he was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for the rapes of two women in the early 2000s.
In a new Instagram video, uploaded to her account on Monday, the actress, 44, unleashed her fury at the public for ‘crucifying’ the actor for making a ‘mistake.’
‘There’s no human on this planet that doesn’t deserve to have the best life and to be happy and free because you are made in the image of the good Lord, made perfectly just the way you are,’ she told her more than 1 million Instagram followers.
The Virginia native also expressed outrage over the public ‘crucifying’ Masterson for his ‘mistake.’
Angry: Orange Is the New Black star Taryn Manning slammed Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis for issuing an apology for writing character reference letters for their former co-star Danny Masterson
‘He made a mistake, but everyone just keep going, keep crucifying him, as if he’s not already suffering,’ she said, before urging critics to ‘leave him alone.’
She went on to slam Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis for issuing an apology for writing character reference letters for their former co-star.
In the footage, she accused the the couple of humiliating somebody that she ‘actually really loved and cared for.’
Later, Manning noted that her ‘speech impediment’ is due to ‘being 80 percent deaf’ and that it has ‘come a long way’ over the years.
The performer made it clear that she tends to get ‘a little bit of a lisp’ when she is not not actively working for a project, despite many assuming her slurred speech was due to being ‘drugs or [being] drunk’.
In her caption for the post, the singer said the ‘biggest disgrace of the year’ was ‘Mila and Ashton back peddling’ on their character reference for Masterson.
‘Stand for something,’ she urged her fans, before revealing that she has never and ‘will never’ vote.
She has disabled comments on the post, which has received 1,728 likes.
In 2014, Manning had her own brush with the law for ‘violating her restraining order and making criminal threats against her former roommate, Jeanine Heller,’ according to CBS News.
Manning’s post comes after Kutcher and Kunis have responded to backlash over their letters written to a judge about Masterson.

‘We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson,’ Ashton, 45, began in a short video shared on Instagram after it was revealed that he and his wife had vouched for their former That 70s Show co-star and friend, 47.
‘We support victims,’ Mila, 40, added. ‘We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.’ The comments on the post were disabled.
Critics were quick to take to X, formerly known as Twitter, to unleash their dismay over the ‘lawyered’ apology.
Journalist Yashar Ali wrote on the site, ‘It’s important to note that the letters weren’t just character letters you’d write for a friend. The letters, which contained a great deal of Scientological phrasing, were intended to undermine the victims who were drugged by Danny.’

Ashton informed viewers in the clip, ‘A couple months ago, Danny’s family reached out to us and they asked us to write character letters to represent the person that we knew for 25 years so that the judge could take that into full consideration relative to the sentencing.’
Mila went on to say, ‘The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s ruling.’
‘They were intended for the judge to read. And not to undermine the testimonies of the victims or re-traumatize them in any way.
‘We would never want to do that. And we are sorry if that has taken place,’ Ashton emphasized.
‘Our heart goes out to every single person that has ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape,’ Mila said to conclude their statement.
Since the actors’ letters were released, fans have reacted with outrage online.
One former supporter wrote on a recent Instagram post of Kutcher’s, ‘I’m not a fan of cancel culture, but I make an exception for you two.’
Someone else added, ‘Hard f*****g pass on you two. How the mighty have fallen.’
Surprising choice: The couple supported their former That 70s Show castmate by making individual submissions to the court, despite him already being convicted for raping two women
In the letters obtained by DailyMail.com, both Kunis and Kutcher – who is credited as a co-founder and board chair of a non-profit purported to help fight child sex exploitation – spoke highly of Masterson, claiming he always ‘treated people with decency, equality, and generosity’ (pictured in 2017)

In his letter to the judge, Kutcher wrote in part: ‘He’s an extraordinarily honest and intentional human being.
‘Over 25 year relationship I don’t ever recall him lying to me. He’s taught me about being direct and confronting issues in life and relationships head-on, resolving them, and moving forward.’
