Strictly Come Dancing’s DJ Tyler West rushed to hospital as he shares worrying A&E snap

DJ Tyler West has shared he's been rushed to hospital as he posted a snap in A&E.

The 26 year old took to his Instagram stories on 17 August to share the black and white photo of himself sitting down.

While he didn't explain what happened exactly, the radio star wrote over the image: "Everything's cool, but wanna shout out the NHS [blue heart emoji] especially the paramedic and A&E team," he wrote over the black and white snap.

"We are truly blessed with all the hard work they do, they really don't get enough credit. Thank you."

It is unknown whether his stint in hospital will impact his future appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

OK! has approached both Tyler's representative as well as the BBC for further comment.

The DJ was the seventh contestant to be announced to take part in the star-studded line-up for Strictly this year.

Admitting that the show will be "out of his comfort zone", he said: "I am SO gassed to be joining the Strictly family!

"As I started writing this I already got cramp. It’s going to be one crazy incredible journey which will no doubt be SO far outside my comfort zone."

“It’s a show that means so much to me and my family and I can’t wait to seriously shake a leg on that shiny dance floor… with a side of sequins," he continued.

He's best known for hosting the KISS FM weekday afternoon show, and was nominated for a prestigious ARIA for Best New Presenter in 2020.

As well being a radio host, Tyler launched his first BBC Three series last year where he co-hosted Flat out Fabulous, in addition to becoming the host of The MTV Movie Show.

Tyler is set to compete against the likes of Loose Women's Kaye Adams andCoronation Street actress Kym Marsh on Strictly.

He will have to get on his dancing shoes to impress judges Motsi Mabuse, 41, Shirley Ballas, 61, and Craig Revel Horwood, 57, as well as Anton Du Beke, 56, who will be a permanent judge this series.

The popular BBC series announced that preparation for the 2022 series is well and truly underway, with recording for the launch show set to take place on Wednesday 7 September.

Confirming the news, the broadcaster said: “The stunning 20th series returns, bringing glamour and show-stopping dancing back to Saturday nights on BBC One – and we’re extremely excited to be able to welcome an audience back to the studio for this year’s shows.”
