And while the recent Covid wave certainly impacted things, multiple TMZ sources “connected to Caesars Palace” claim that the show was also postponed because Adele was “displeased” with the production and there were “disputes.”
Per TMZ, Adele was “unhappy with various set pieces, a choir, the sound system and other items associated with the show” and felt that multiple elements of the show “were not good enough.”
Apparently Caesars was “shocked” by the cancelation, and “can’t understand why she waited until the last minute to pull the plug.” Meanwhile, another insider tells The Sun, via Page Six, that “There was no real clarity around what Adele wanted for the show because of the endless changes being made to the production. It seemed that while she has always preferred a stripped-back performance, she was under some pressure to come up with a huge extravaganza. So there was a constant ricochet between those two versions of what the show should be, and it did cause some quite explosive arguments.”
In her video, Adele explained that “half my team, half my crew are down with COVID, they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show.” She added that she’s “gutted” and “sorry it’s so last-minute,” and has spent the past few days connecting with fans via FaceTime and DM who had flown to Las Vegas to see her perform.
