Loose Women’s Sophie Morgan left heartbroken as her car is broken into with thieves stealing her £4000 wheelchair attachment
Loose Women’s Sophie Morgan has been left heartbroken after her car was broken into, with thieves stealing a £4000 wheelchair attachment.
The disability campaigner, 38, who is paralysed from the waist down following a car accident aged 18, shared on Instagram that the attachment, called a Batec was taken.
Sophie shared a picture of her rear windscreen of her BMW smashed in as she said the Batec has ‘no value’ to anyone but her.
A Batec connects to traditional wheelchairs to make it motorised and help disabled individuals travel more freely.
The TV personality wrote: ‘My car has been broken into AGAIN. It was parked at my friend’s house in Camden, near Regents Park for an HOUR.’

Furious: The disability campaigner, 38, who is paralysed from the waist down following a car accident aged 18, had her crucial Batec stolen – it motorises wheelchairs
‘They have taken my WHEELCHAIR ATTATCHMENT called a Batec. It is an essential mobility aid worth £4000.’
‘It has been stolen along with a small black suitcase filled with personal items such as clothes, shoes etc. of NO VALUE to anyone but me.’
‘Please, please, if anyone saw anything, please report it to the Police or DM me.’
The car windscreen could be seen completely smashed into with glass that shattered everyone.
Back in March, Sophie’s Blue Badge was stolen from her car in London when she was away working in America.
The robbery couldn’t have come at a worse time for Sophie since just a week ago she claimed that staff at British Airways broke the attachment on her £8,000 wheelchair for a second time.
Filming from arrivals she told the camera: ‘British Airways have broken my Batec [battery-powered attachment]. I arrived at the airport and it was working’.
‘Now I’m reunited with it off the back of the plane and it’s not working’.
Unfair: Taking to social media, the panelist shared a picture of the damage and admitted how the wheelchair attachment has ‘no value’ to anyone but her

Heartbreak: She said ‘I honestly don’t think I can actually take much more of this. I was just told to put a complaint in through the website again’ (Sophie pictured in May)
An emotional Sophie continued: ‘[The wheelchair has] some kind of electrical fault, it’s not connecting when I turn the key and so what does that tell you? It’s been manhandled.’
‘I honestly don’t think I can actually take much more of this. I was just told to put a complaint in through the website again’.
‘Thankfully I know that’s not what I’m meant to do. I’ve had no sleep, I’m absolutely exhausted.’
Before adding: ‘It’s happened again. British Airways, you have broken my Batec. I’m actually speechless.’
In a statement to MailOnline BA said: ‘We’re really sorry for our customer’s experience and are in direct contact with her to resolve the issue as we investigate what happened’.
Shocking: Sophie was left wheelchair bound after suffering a T6 spinal cord injury in 2003 resulting in paralysis from the chest down at the age of 18
