SAG Awards 2023: Emily Blunt and Cara Delevingne lead British stars

SAG Awards 2023: Bring on the Brits! Emily Blunt, Cara Delevingne, Claire Foy and Olivia Williams fly the British flag in Los Angeles as homegrown talent descends on star-studded red carpet ahead of annual ceremony

Emily Blunt, Cara Delevingne, Claire Foy and Olivia Williams were among the stars flying the British flag at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards held at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The film stars dressed to impress as they graced the red carpet for the glitzy annual ceremony, with Emily Blunt leading the British glamour in a stunning red laser cut gown with a striking floral design. 

The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honours the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2022. 

And the actress, 40, certainly dazzled in the eye-catching number, which showcased glimpses of her skin between the thin semi-sheer panels that stretched the length of her dress. 

Emily teamed her gown with a statement silver and ruby snake choker and coordinating earrings, tying in her flawless look bold coral lips and glossy locks which fell about her shoulders.

The Hollywood couple looked more loved up than ever as they wrapped an arm around one another to pose for photos at the star studded events. 

Emily is up for the Outstanding Performance by a female actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series award for her role in The English. 

She is up against Amanda Seyfried in The Dropout, Jessica Chastain in George & Tammy, Julia Garner in Inventing Anna and Niecy Nash-Betts Dahmer in Monster.

Meanwhile Cara, 30, stunned in a black trouser suit with two large roses on it, showcasing her slender figure for the evening out in California.

She also donned a large floor length cape, giving her look an eye-catching touch.

Cara Delevingne complemented her outfit with a pair of strappy black peep toe heels, adding inches to her height. 

The beauty wore her blonde locks in a sleek straightened style as they cascaded down her back.

The Crown actress, 38, went braless, donning a plunging floor length yellow number for the event. 

Her frock accentuated her hourglass figure and toned arms as she prepared for a fun evening out in California. 

Claire toted her essentials in a glitzy clutch bag and sported a silver necklace.

She swept her raven locks into a chic low bun and opted for a slick of classic red lipstick for the star-studded awards show.

The Oscar winner completed the look with smart black trousers and wore his brunette locks in matte spikes.

Meanwhile Andrew, 39, opted for a more traditional double-breasted tuxedo which he layered over a crisp white shirt.

The Spiderman star added a little rock and roll to the look opting to go without a tie and sported bushy beard.

The 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards are taking place at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California and will be broadcast live on Netflix’s YouTube channel.

The Banshees Of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once were among the most nominated feature films.

Among the television nominees, Better Call Saul and Ozark scored several nods.

The Banshees Of Inisherin, Martin McDonagh’s film about two Irish men’s fractured friendship among that country’s civil war, earned a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, along with individual nods for Colin Farrell in the lead male actor category and Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan in the supporting male category. 

Kerry Condon was also nominated in the supporting female actor category.

The Michelle Yeoh–starring Everything Everywhere All At Once, which has grossed more than $100 million against just a $14 million budget, was also a hit with SAG voters.

Yeoh, who scored a major career comeback with Everything Everywhere All At Once, was nominated for lead female actor.

Ke Huy Quan, best known as a child actor in Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom and The Goonies, cemented his return to Hollywood with a nomination for supporting male actor.

Stephanie Hsu, who plays the actors’ daughter in the film, was nominated in the supporting female actor category, as was Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays a villainous IRS agent.

Another comeback film, the Darren Aronofsky–directed drama The Whale, scored a lead nomination for its star Brendan Fraser, while his costar Hong Chau was nominated in the supporting female actor category.

Ana de Armas, who was nominated at the previous night’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony for her fictional Marilyn Monroe film Blonde, scored another nomination for the controversial drama. 

Other nominees for feature films included Angela Bassett for supporting female actress for her Marvel superhero film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
