The Royal Family are said to be fearing that Prince Harry's bombshell memoir has been "sexed up" after his "exes were asked to contribute."
It's been announced that Harry's memoir, pointedly named Spare in reference to him being the "spare" and not the "heir" to the throne, will be released on 10 January 2023.
There are reports that the book went back and forth between Harry and Penguin Random House publishers, after the Duke of Sussex was "asked to revisit several sections."
Harry is said to have reach out to numerous ex-girlfriends to contribute to the book by speaking to his ghostwriter, JR Moehringer.
A source told The Sun: “They wanted more than was in the first draft, and then Harry wanted to refine things after the Queen passed away.
“But there has been extra toing and froing that people don’t know about. This is because the publishers wanted more areas covered and more detail on some things that were already included.
“There is a real concern that that means Harry has had to sex up the book and include revelations that even he might not even be that comfortable with.”
There are also fears that Harry could go into more detail about he and Meghan's claim that a senior member of the royal family made a racist remark about what colour their then-unborn son Archie's skin might be.
Harry is understood to have reached out to former friends and girlfriends in England to ask them to talk about his life and relationships, however, it's not known exactly who he spoke to.
His ex-girlfriends include Chelsea Davy, 37, and actress, Cressida Bonas, 33.
A source said: “Harry did reach out. Friends and girlfriends were polite and said they would think about it but ultimately most said No.
“It was felt to be kind of ironic that Harry would hit the roof if he ever had an inkling they spoke to the media, but now he wants them to when he needs their help.”
Confirming the release date of the book, Penguin Random House said that it will take "readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror."
The publisher continued: "As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling – and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is his story at last.
"With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief."
