Jennie Nguyen of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is feeling the heat over controversial posts found on her Facebook page. The posts that were made in 2020 surfaced and quickly went viral with fans calling for her immediate firing from the Bravo reality series. After the backlash on social media, the housewife is breaking her silence and apologizing for the posts.
Jennie Nguyen posts apology
Nguyen is a first-season housewife on RHOSLC that is in the ring of fire after offensive Facebook posts on social media surfaced. The Bravo star shared memes on the social network criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement against police brutality. She even shared conspiracy theories of the George Floyd incident. Nguyen became a trending topic on Twitter and hours after doing so took to Instagram to share an apology and excuse the heinous posts.
“I want to acknowledge and apologize for my deleted Facebook posts from 2020 that resurfaced today,” Instagram. “At the time, I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive and hurtful my words were. It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own. I regret those posts and am sincerely sorry for the pain they caused.”
Bravo has not released a statement following the posts and Nguyen has since disabled comments on the Instagram post since going live. None of her co-stars have addressed the issue as of this publication.

‘RHOSLC’ fans fire back at Jennie Nguyen
After Nguyen shared her apology, it wasn’t long before fans had their own take on the situation and fired back at the RHOSLC star. Many of the comments were against Nguyen and fans not accepting her apology calling her out for the Facebook posts.
“Nawww! You meant every word you posted. I’m sure you never thought we’d see it,” a viewer replied.
“You were kekeing about BLM protestors being mowed down. Peddling conspiracies about George Floyd. Apology not accepted girl,” a follower added.
“That’s why they always say careful what you post online because [it’s] there permanently,” another Instagram user said.
“And yes, hate is a virus, sadly there is not a cure for what’s infected you,” another viewer noted.
“Damn, that was fast. I don’t think your opinion changed but I do hope this was a learning lesson for you. You have a beautiful family, it would s–k that this is the type of mindset you have while raising them,” another follower mentioned.
“You deactivated that account because you [were] going to be on TV and that wasn’t a good look for you. At some point Bravo needs to be held accountable for not screening these people,” another Instagram user commented.
Jennie Nguyen clashes with Mary M. Cosby
The irony of it all is that Nguyen clashed with co-star Mary M. Cosby during the second season of RHOSLC. Nguyen called out the church leader for bringing attention to her facial features. Cosby said she complimented the shape of her eyes but Nguyen said that it was not right to do that.
“Racism, in any form, is RACISM!” she wrote in the now-deleted tweet that Queens of Bravo shared on Instagram. “This is what my husband and I grew up with daily. To be silent, or to laugh while someone is being racist, is to be complicit.”
A second tweet said, “I hope that one day that my children, and yours, will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Let’s [sic] us use our privilege to end HATE.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
