Piers Morgan is certainly not fond of Adele pulling out of her Las Vegas residency just one day before she was expected to kick off her 24-night concert on January 21. The Easy On Me singer tearfully apologised to her fans in a video posted to her Instagram last week, saying that due to half of her crew being infected with Covid, the team consequently ran out of time to get things ready before the show’s start date.

She destroyed God knows how many dream trips by die-hard fans

“I’m so sorry,” the chart-topper said.

“But my show ain’t ready. I’m so upset, and I’m really embarrassed.

“We’ve been destroyed by delivery delays and Covid. Half my crew and team are ill with Covid and still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show.”

She added: “I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted. I’m sorry it’s last minute.”

But Piers isn’t buying the singer’s “excuses” one bit.

In his latest column for The Sun, the TV journalist weighed in on Adele’s decision to pull the Vegas residency at the last minute.

Her decision in doing so evidently meant that fans who had already travelled from all parts of the world to see their idol live on stage were left to ponder what to do next.

“To take such drastic action so close to show time suggested that something irrevocably seismic must have suddenly happened to derail the three-month Weekends with Adele,” Piers claimed today.

The father-of-four argued that it’s inexcusable to give such little notice to a show’s cancellation, let alone an entire residency, claiming that tickets were being sold for up to $5,000 per seat.

“And sure enough, Adele offered just such an explanation — it was the deadly virus which has devastated the world for the past two years,” the former Good Morning Britain star wrote.

It was just in November when the Oh My God vocalist announced she would be performing exclusively at Caesars Palace for an intimate two-month stint, performing songs from her latest album, 30.

“And by doing so, she destroyed God knows how many dream trips by die-hard fans who had shelled out not just on tickets, but flights and hotels, too,” he added.

“It seems Covid was just a convenient excuse for the more likely truth, which is that Adele didn’t prepare properly and didn’t visit the stage before it was too late,” he claimed.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Adele for comment.

Since the cancellation of her residency, it has been reported that new dates could be delayed until June or 2023 due to Adele’s hectic work schedule following the release of 30.

On top of her upcoming performance at The Brits, she will also be hitting the stage for her two gigs in Hyde Park on July 1 and July 2.

Since her public apology on social media, the mum-of-one has received an outpouring amount of love and support from her fellow colleagues and die-hard fans.

Pop star Pink was one of the famous faces to have hopped over to the comment section, writing: “Sweetheart I have been there.

“The pressure is immense and I’m gutted for all of you. It will come together and it will be amazing when it does.”

Singer-songwriter Adam Lambert also shared a few encouraging words to Adele after praising her for being open and honest about her production issues.

“Good for you being honest and open about it,” he commented. “I’m sure the show is well worth the extra wait. Sending a big hug.”

Another fan @thekalenallen echoed similar words, saying: “Everyone will be right there ready to feel your love when the time is right!”
