Peter Andre’s struggle as Princess ‘isn’t looking forward’ to going back to school

Peter Andre has given out his advice to those returning to school and college this week as he admits his eldest daughter Princess "isn't looking forward" to heading into her GCSE year.

Elsewhere in his exclusive column, Peter pays tribute to his friend Sarah Harding on the one year anniversary of her death and reveals why he won't be taking part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!'s all stars series. Sign up – for free – to see what Pete has to say!

Back to school

Princess, Millie and Theo all go back to school this week. Junior gets a little bit longer off as he’s at college and his times are different.

It’s quite full-on having Millie and Theo at one school, Princess at another and then Junior somewhere else. Emily’s the more organised out of the two of us. She’s the one asking if they need anything for school as sometimes I completely forget! Hey, no parent is perfect.

Princess isn’t looking forward to going back as it’s GCSE year. It’s always a drag going back to work or school after a break, but once you get into the flow of it, the time goes so quickly.

Remembering Sarah

This week marks one year since the passing of Sarah Harding. It was such a shock when Sarah died, but what

I love about the Great British public is that when a terrible situation like this happens and someone so loved passes, people put all their love and support behind the family.

Sarah was a very loved person, she will never be forgotten. I hope her family have been able to in some way come to terms with their loss. It’s such a terrible thing to have happened to someone so young.

Jungle fever

I’m A Celeb is back for an All Stars series. I get asked all the time if I would do it. The show did so much for me, but I’ve already been on it twice, so a return might be one step too far.

I have an idea. Let me present it and put Ant and Dec in the jungle. Now that would be fun! My friend Carol Vorderman is rumoured to be heading back in – she’d be great.

The contestants just need to remember that the theory of stuffing yourself before you go in is wrong. You need to cut back and prepare yourself for that hunger, because it is real.

Dad guilt

Ferne McCann has opened up on feeling mum guilt as she missed her daughter Sunday’s birthday while filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Like many parents, I get dad guilt. My manager blocks out the kids’ birthdays now so that I’m usually around, but there are times when I’m out of the country or doing shows which makes it difficult. It’s hard, but it’s for the greater good and you’re doing the shows to gain experience and also bring money in for the family.

Theo and Millie had a sports day once and I could only make Millie’s because

I had work in the afternoon, but Emily had work in the morning so she could only make Theo’s. We both felt terrible that we weren’t there for both, but work is work.

Spare the Rod

A school in the US has said it is bringing back spanking as a “last resort” punishment. When I was at school, I remember getting the cane twice on the back of the knees. You would try your best not to cry, but the pain was just so much. The thing is, although it didn’t do me any harm, I’m not sure it did me any good either.

I’ve never raised a hand to my kids and they are the most polite and respectful children. I think if the school thinks punishment is needed, they need to tell the parents and the parents need to deal with it.
