TV and radio presenter Mark Wright, 34, has opened up about his recovery after having a benign tumour surgically removed from under his arm. The former TOWIE star was given the all-clear by doctors but says his recovery took much longer than he had anticipated.
One month after his operation, Mark says he is only just starting to feel healthy again.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Mark said: “It’s all getting better. I would probably say I am finally back to full health today. Last week, I was still a little bit sore.
“It was definitely a lot longer recovery than I was expecting, but I’m feeling a lot better now.”
The Heart FM radio presenter told fans last week he had to adapt his exercise regime to allow the tissue time to heal.
He also admitted he had put on just over half a stone.
Showing off his surgery scar in the gym, Mark told his 1.8 million followers: “My first proper session back. If you haven’t started yet I understand.
“I gained about eight or nine pounds over Christmas… As you can see, I’ve lost a little bit of size. I’m not allowed to do weights, probably won’t for another couple of weeks because of that little b*****d.
“But we’re getting there. Not too bad. Lost a little bit of leanness but it will come off.”

In a separate post two weeks after his operation, Mark confessed the health scare had been a “terribly worrying time”.
He explained he was worried and anxious about “what could have been” and was left feeling “low” as he recovered.
He continued: “I’ve had the worry and the anxiety about what this could have been, and just staying in and recovering just leaving me feeling a little bit low and not very motivated.”
Mark noticed the lump under his armpit and became increasingly concerned as it began to grow.

He was informed by a specialist that the lump was a benign tumour but doctors feared it could turn cancerous and decided to remove it.
Now, he is encouraging others to get checked.
The presenter told followers: “Moral of the story: if you notice anything that doesn’t look or feel quite right. Don’t leave it.
“Nothing in life is more important than your health and well-being. Get checked, check yourself and make sure you take good care of yourself.”
