Love Island alumni Amy Day has revealed how she ended up in hospital after suffering a nasty hand injury.
The 27 year old, who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2021, shared a picture of her A&E visit with her fans on social media. She posted an image to Instagram showing her in the unit wearing a pair of black stilettos.
The former reality star captioned the photo: "Perfect A&E footwear. Just perfect."
Amy then posted another picture showing her little finger wrapped in a bandage. She wrote as a caption: "Having my nail ripped off was definitely not on my agenda today but hey."
Amy appeared to be in high spirits though – despite her finger being bandaged up. She joked: "Who wants to write on it?"
Amy appeared on Love Island season seven after entering the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell, eventually winning the affections of Hugo Hammond. Their romance was short-lived however, with the pair splitting as soon as they were dumped from the villa.
She has remained in the public eye thanks to the glamorous pictures she shares on Instagram – where she has 99,000 followers – although earlier this year she told OK! how she had returned to her day job as a property negotiator since leaving the villa.
She said: “Property is something I’ve done for eight years and returned to three months after appearing on Love Island. I’m self-employed, so I’ve always been aware of the need to keep working.
“When I came out of the villa, my life was crazy. I'd do my 9-5 and then go to an event in the evening. I filled weekends with glam photoshoots which I posted during the week so it looked like I was living my best life, when really I was in the office.
“In February 2022 I started a full-time job as a property negotiator. It allowed me to buy my own flat and also served as a good distraction from a breakup I was going through.
"My colleagues think it’s great that I’ve been on Love Island. It’s made them realise that reality TV stars are just like everyone else.
“My role is quite glamorous because the properties are so lovely. At the moment I sell newbuilds in West London.
“Whenever anyone recognises me, I rush out to get some water or a coffee. One time I was asked for a photo but I had to decline as I didn’t think it’d be professional.”
At the end of last year, Amy shared the exciting news that she had achieved her "biggest goal" as she bought her first property.
"Ending the year by ticking off my biggest goal," the ex-Islander wrote.
She continued: "Everyone that knows me knows how property has been a big part of my life and owning my own place was always a dream. Here’s to being an adult."
