Love Island ‘makes huge twist to Casa Amor’ for even more drama for winter series

Love Island is set to make a return to our screens next month, as the winter version, which will be filmed at a luxury villa in South Africa, will see a whole host of sexy new singletons looking to find love.

Fans of the hit ITV2 show will know that, through all the twists and turns on the series, none creates more drama than Casa Amor – when couple's loyalties are tested – but this year, there's set to be even more drama with the introduction of a new twist.

Show bosses are planning on putting the Casa Amor people into a luxury villa just feet away from the main house, so the other halves are never going to be far away if one is looking to hook up with someone they shouldn't necessarily be doing.

A source said: "Casa Amor's inhabitants have always been able to relax in the knowledge that the people they're coupled up with are miles away.

"Well not any more – if there's any wild partying going on, the main villa may well be able to hear it.

"This year, it really could be a case of having trouble with the neighbours as the bombshells try to crack couples apart."

On this year's series of the show, Casa Amor certainly tested the relationship of Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, after Andrew hooked up with Coco Lodge and famously "licked her t**, or whatever".

Although it nearly broke them for good, Tasha and Andrew came back fighting and are one of the few couples from this year's series that are still together.

They moved into a pad in London in September, and even got matching rose tattoos – Tasha's is on her neck and Andrew's is on his hand – as Andrew also got a BSL (British Sign Language) tattoo, in tribute to his girlfriend, who wears a cochlear implant to help her hear.

The winter series of Love Island is filmed South Africa's Western Cape, and is filmed there due to it being hotter than Mallorca, which is where the show is based in summer, as the contestants spend the majority of their time in their swimwear.

ITV2's Paul Mortimer said: "Rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show.”

More exciting still, the show is set to welcome a brand new host for the upcoming series – none other than Maya Jama.

Maya was announced as the replacement for Laura Whitmore, who stepped down as presenter after the 2022 series of Love Island this summer.
