King Charles and Queen Camilla have wished the monarch's grandson Prince George happy birthday.
George, who is second in line to the throne, has been pictured sitting on a set of steps at Windsor ahead of his 10th birthday.
The photograph has been shared on social media in a Royal tradition where a new official image is shared on momentous occasions.
However in a slight change of tradition portrait photographer Millie Pilkington has taken the image shared on official Royal social media pages.
This is a change as usually the Princess of Wales and George's mother, Kate Middleton, photographs her children on their birthdays.
Millie, who is based in Dorset but travels throughout country, has pictured the family before, when Prince Louis posed for her on his fifth birthday in April.
The new picture shows George is starting to look more and more like his father, and the future King of England, William, Prince of Wales.
People have picked up on the resemblance, while others pointed out that George’s appearance was akin to his mother's.
On Twitter, one person said: "Every day he looks more like his father, Prince William."
Another added: "He looks so much like his dad, happy birthday to the adorable Prince George! I hope he will have a super fun day."
While a third commented: "Happy Birthday Prince George …he looks so much more grown up, I can see him like both mum and dad hope he has the best day."
It would appear that George has had a busy year so far, joining his family for many Royal occasions including the Trooping The Colour most recently in June.
At the start of July, he and his father were also spotted watching the second Ashes Test at Lord's cricket ground in London.
Prince George also made his second appearance at Wimbledon with mother Kate and Princess Charlotte.
While it was George's second time at the tennis tournament, it marked a first for his sister Charlotte.
A few days earlier, George and his younger siblings privately visited an airshow at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire.
This year, George finished his first year at new school, Lambrook School in Berkshire. He started there with his siblings Charlotte and Louis last September following the family's move to Windsor.
Prince George Alexander Louis was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, at 4.24pm on July 22 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz.
He made his debut in front of the world's media on the hospital steps one day later, wrapped in a white merino wool shawl, cradled in his mother's arms.
He will be the 43rd monarch since William the Conqueror to wear the crown if he follows the reigns of his grandfather, the King, and then his father, William.
