Kerry Katona has revealed the results of her recent corrective surgery following a tummy tuck in 2021, saying it's given her the confidence boost she needed.
In our exclusive pictures, Kerry, 42, can be seen ahead of the op – which she underwent at Pall Mall Cosmetics in Manchester last Monday – as she showed off her "lumpy" and "swollen" stomach.
She revealed she had spent months crying over her body and that her confidence was at an all-time low.
“Looking at the before pictures, I just feel like it’s not my body,” Kerry said. “It makes me feel angry and frustrated. I was so swollen. I’m not exaggerating when I say every minute of every day, all I could think about was my body.
“I was constantly wearing baggy clothes. I couldn’t wear anything tight, I felt so self-conscious. My stomach has bothered me for so long. I’ve been in tears over it. At points, I didn’t even want to leave the house and be seen. My confidence was at an all-time low. I didn’t want anyone to see my body."
Now, as she recovers from the surgery, she admitted that she's “so happy” and “can’t wait to feel more like me again”.
Alongside snaps of her bandaged stomach, she said she wants to kick-start a healthier lifestyle – and is “on a mission” to lose 3st by her 43rd birthday in September.
“I’m going to look amazing. I am on a mission. Once I put my mind to something, I see it through. I am going to look phenomenal. I’m signing up to the Francis Diet, which is all about eating healthy and controlling calories," she said.
“Alongside that, I’m going to train every day with my fitness brand M-Fit. I’m going to do lots of cardio sessions and also get back to my morning yoga and meditation.
"I want to lose 3st now. I’m currently 12-and-a-half and I want to be 9st. I have a picture of myself on my phone screensaver from when I was a size 8 – and that’s my motivation. I told myself that as soon as I had this surgery, I would get back on it."
Kerry had previously undergone the tummy tuck at a different clinic, however, she didn't give herself time to heal as she went straight back to work and moved house – leaving her with botched results.
Writing in her memoir Kerry Katona: Whole Again, she said the procedure was the “worst thing” she’s ever done and added it was her “own fault” that she didn’t have time to “let [her] body recover”.
Kerry previously told how she was left in tears after her corrective surgery had been cancelled. She was previously set to go under the knife in early January, and had booked the entire month off to recover.
"I have booked the whole of January off around this surgery but, as you all know, I was really poorly over Christmas. The doctor saw on my notes that I'd been on antibiotics and, because of that, I couldn't go under as they have to be 100% sure I'll be OK," she wrote in her weekly column.
"I was crying my eyes out – I'm at home, I've cancelled all my work for weeks. But fair play to them for thinking about my health first. I'm grateful for that. I'm gutted though because I prepared myself. I'll be going for an X-ray and blood tests soon to make sure I'm OK to go ahead with the procedures.
"The problem is my workload, so I'll have to work around that too and figure out a new date."
