In an exclusive interview with OK! , Kerry Katona has opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs and admitted she’s in ‘no rush’ to have more children.
The 40 year old mother of five revealed to us that she feels she “couldn’t physically carry a child” now. “My body can't do it after DJ was born. I nearly died and DJ did die. She was on life support,” Kerry added, recalling the traumatic birth of her youngest child.
The former Atomic Kitten singer continued: “I think that was my body telling me enough's enough. If we were to have a child, it'd be through surrogacy.” Kerry is currently engaged to 32 year old Ryan Mahoney.
“We have spoken about it. We're in no rush to do it though,” the star revealed. That being said, Kerry explained that she wouldn’t be taking any chances.
“I will go get my eggs frozen just to be on the safe side,” she told us, joking that she’s got Ryan a dog and he’s “more than happy with that for now!”
In a recent tell-all interview with new magazine, Kerry explained that it would be selfish for her to get pregnant after everything that happened with DJ.
“I think if I was to get pregnant, it would be selfish of me because if I were to die my children would be left without a mum. As much as I love Ryan and Ryan loves me he would never put me through that.”

Kerry echoed that sentiment in her recent tell-all interview with Ulrika Jonsson where she said: “It would be selfish of me to have another child… But I would do it for Ryan. So I’m freezing my eggs and we will see what happens.”
Kerry has opened up in the past about her traumatic experience while giving birth to youngest daughter DJ, now seven.
“Something just didn’t feel right… the baby’s not breathing. So a crash team came and took her off me and she completely died,” she explained during a tearful interview on This Morning.

Doctors realised Kerry’s life was also in danger after the birth when it became apparent that the placenta hadn’t been delivered. After losing a lot of blood, Kerry had to have it removed manually.
Kerry is mum to Molly, 19, Lilly-Sue, 18, Heidi, 14, Maxwell, 13, and Dylan-Jorge, seven, with three of her former partners.
She shares Molly and Lilly-Sue with Brian McFadden and Heidi and Maxwell with Mark Croft. Dylan’s father is the late George Kay.
