Kate Lawler impresses fans as she shows off one year old daughter’s incredible skill

Kate Lawler showcased her daughter’s impressive talent on Wednesday, with the little tot practically beaming with pride.

The former Big Brother winner, who appeared on the third season with contestants like the late Jade Goody and Adele Roberts, took to Instagram this week to show off her daughter Noa’s skill at naming dogs.

The Beckenham-born Capital FM DJ welcomed Noa, also nicknamed Tayto, back in February 2021 with her husband, Martin Bojtos.

Speaking to her 454k followers, Kate, 42, said: “Since Noa was old enough to sit in a high chair I have been showing her these flash cards of different dog breeds and saying the names of them out loud.

"For ages she just looked at each one and smiled until one day I asked her which breed each one was.”

Noa can be seen successfully identifying numerous dog breeds, including a pug, a staffie, and a basset hound.

She continued: “They really are like sponges aren’t they? The other day we were walking the dogs and she shouted ‘Pug!’ as a little pug walked past.

“I hope she loves doggies as much as I do when she grows up. I already feel like she does, behaving much better and more gently with @baxterandshirley after going through a short phase of hitting them. I’m so proud of how smart my little Tayto is.”

Funnily enough, the cards Kate was using were designed by Gruffy portraits, who photographed her own dogs a few years ago.

Fans flocked to the comments to gush over the mummy-daughter duo, with TOWIE’s Lauren Pope penning: “Amazing!!!”

Ashley James, who recently revealed the gender of her second baby, wrote: “So cuuuute!!!”

One fan who works at a school said Noa is “so advanced for her age” and is exhibiting skills “2years ahead of her age and it amazing to see.”

“She’s better than me and I work in a vets,” joked another fan, as someone else wrote: “An average child is about 30 words at her age. She's basically talking in sentences before She's 2. That's amazing!!!!!”

Back in October, Kate recalled a difficult time in her life when she had postnatal depression, which she talked about openly for World Mental Health day and PND awareness and support week.

She explained at the time: “When Noa was born she had two days in intensive care followed by multiple hospital trips in the first three weeks of her life.

“Breastfeeding became increasingly difficult after this because Noa developed terrible reflux because of all the antibiotics she’d been given.

“The sleep deprivation was torture and the post-natal depression (which naively I never thought would happen to me) crept up and it got to a stage where I felt like it would be best for everyone if I wasn’t here anymore.”

Thanks to “early intervention”, Kate was thankfully able to get the support she needed and “the intrusive thoughts that plagued my mind gradually went away.”
