Stacey Solomon addresses husband Joe Swash’s absence
Last year Joe decided to take part in the All-Star version of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…South Africa – following his win back in 2008. Although his stint the second time around meant he would spend weeks away from his family and he admitted “people underestimate the power of separation”.
With the actor spending time away from Stacey and their children he did not realise the effect it would have on their home life.

Having no contact with the outside world, Joe admitted: “I think people sometimes underestimate the power of separation and having no contact”.
“At the time, Stacey was six months pregnant, so it was a difficult decision whether to go or not,” Joe admitted.
“I got really homesick. But I still loved it and I’m so glad I did it.”

Joe admitted that he managed his homesickness by staying connected to his family.
Despite being over 6,000 miles away he sweetly said they were all in his thoughts.
“It really is hard to leave the kids for so long”.
Speaking of the disruption to his family life, he admitted: “I think people sometimes underestimate the power of separation and having no contact”.
“I can be anywhere in the world, but I can always communicate with my family.”
The couple catapulted to fame after they met on I’m A Celebrity back in 2010.
Joe was presenting the spin-off series, I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp when they began dating.
They dated for six years and tied the knot in July 2022 surrounded by family and friends at their home called Pickle Cottage.
