Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson admitted she is torn over who should win the glitterball trophy, adding that “it’s tough” for her to pick sides. The radio host went on to answer a number of burning questions sent in fer fanbase of 1.7 million followers.
Gemma, 37, is married to Strictly professional Gorka Márquez after meeting him through the show.
Gemma met the 31-year-old dancer while competing on Strictly back in 2017, where she was partnered up with Aljaž Škorjanec.
This year, Gorka was paired up with Katie McGlynn, who is famous for playing Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street.
Gemma is therefore very close to the Strictly family, which is why many fans value her insight on the show.
On her Instagram story, one follower asked: “Who do you want to win Strictly?”
Gemma replied diplomatically: “Genuinely either! It’s tough as I’m friends with the pro dancers.
“Both Rose and John have been SO incredible. I wish the glitterball could be cut in half!”
Strictly will feature an unusual two-person final tonight rather than the normal three couples competing against one another.
The change in format is due to Strictly 2021’s third finalist, AJ Odudu, having to pull out due to a last minute injury.
AJ and her professional partner Kai Widdrington have been forced to forfeit the competition ahead of tonight’s final after the presenter tore a ligament in her right ankle.
The emotional star told fans how she was “deeply upset” that she was unable to perform and praised her “special, patient and devoted” partner Kai for training her over the past few weeks.
Gemma had a number of other questions on her story from fans, including one asking who the better dancer was out of her ex-Strictly partner Aljaž and her fiance Gorka.
