It seems Alison made a new year's resolution to lose weight as she started back in January 2019, when she introduced fans to her “new best friend” personal trainer Ellis Gatfield.

Sharing a selfie of her with Ellis, Alison explained the fat loss expert was on hand to “get that feel good factor back in my life through fitness”.

Then, after four months of personal training sessions Alison was announced as a Weight Watchers ambassador in April and admitted she was “embarrassed” by her 20 stone weight.

Speaking in a Weight Watchers promotional video, Alison said: “I need to get healthier for myself.”

Sharing the video on her Instagram, Alison said in the caption: “This is something I wanted to achieve for a long time and I haven’t managed it on my own, so I went to my local workshop and met my lovely Wellness Coach Andrea and the rest is history!

“I’m falling in love with the journey and hope you will support me as much as you can.”

The This Morning presenter showed progress in her exercise and confidence when she shared two videos of herself doing some deadlifts on her Instagram.

In one caption, Allison said she’s “absolutely loved training” and said she was “enjoying the journey”.

Then later that year, Alison shared three photos of herself, saying she was “loving life” and added: “when you look good you feel good” in the caption.

Fans first began to notice a dramatic difference in Alison when she shared a photo of herself in June 2019.

Showing off her incredible results, Alison shared the selfie on her Instagram and Twitter pages and even made it her new profile pic on Twitter.

Compliments from fans then came pouring in, with one even comparing the bubbly host to Beyonce.

“Absolutely beautiful but you are inside and out, what a star you are have us all in tears with laughter good luck on your journey [sic],” one fan wrote.

While another added: “Omg, how much weight have you lost, you look amazing!!”

Alison has previously said she hopes her incredible journey inspires others to make “changes to their lifestyle and become the best version of themselves”.

Alison has continued to post clips of her fitness journey on Instagram, and has opened up on This Morning about her weight loss journey.

When a lady called in asking whether she should consider having weight loss surgery, the 47 year old, who had a band fitted in 2014 before having it removed after experiencing complications, confessed: “Here's the thing. Both myself and Vanessa have had gastric surgery in the past.”

“Let me tell you this, it’s not an easy road. A lot of people see it as an easy thing to do. It’s not necessarily easy.”

Alison added: “And, as you can see, I still haven’t lost all my weight at all. It’s not easy, darling.”

She then went on to encourage the female caller to embrace her body and feel confident in her own skin.

Alison said: “You’ve just got to do what’s right for you. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Sometimes when you take up a little bit extra space, it’s only a little bit of extra space in the world, it don’t matter.”

She continued with a smile: “Just live your best life in that beautiful body, babes.”
