Holly Willoughby, 40, spoke candidly about the recent difficulties she has faced. The This Morning presenter admitted that she was aware of her purpose – her role at work, as a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and as a wife – but was unsure of who she actually is.
The ITV favourite confessed that “something was missing in her life” as she opened up in a new interview.
The small-screen star revealed the past two years has enabled her to reflect and make time to take a step back.
Holly explained that she came to the realisation that she had been giving too much of herself to other areas of her life.
Addressing her personal struggles, the presenter said: “A couple of years ago I found a bit more time to step back and reflect a little bit.
“What I realised was that I’d been so busy, on this treadmill so long, getting everything done, I’d actually lost touch with who I was, and the things that I like.”
She continued to Stylist magazine: “Something was missing – nothing horrendous – but there was a little hole there.
“And that hole was the part of me that I’d given over to everything else in my life.”
Her comments come after the This Morning presenter has branched out with her latest venture.

The TV star has debuted her own magazine-style website, Wylde Moon, which launched yesterday.
Holly explained she wanted to offer a space where she could recommend everything she loves from fashion, beauty to interior design.
In a candid statement on her website, the presenter admitted she has changed over the past few years.
She said: “Wylde Moon has been evolving since I’ve been evolving, and it will continue to develop and change as I continue to develop and change.

“And I think the reason it’s here now is that I’ve got to a point where I’m ready to share these things with the world and I’ve got time to really focus on it.
“I’ve changed a lot in the last few years and I’ve benefited from so many of the things that I’ve been doing, so I’m really excited to share those with other people.”
The mum-of-three shared a touching video on her Instagram to introduce the “very personal project”, which will be a hub of all the things that inspire her.
In view of her 7.3 million followers, she penned: “WYLDE MOON is live. I’m so excited to introduce you to @wyldemoon, a very personal project that I have been working on for a long time. It is a space full of things that I love and people that inspire me… from beauty and fashion, to energy and healing.
“Each month, on the full moon, we will be adding exciting new content & watch out for the WYLDE MOON boutique launching soon. This is just the beginning, so dive in at WYLDEMOON.co.uk #wyldemoon.”
Holly’s mum, Lynn Willoughby, posted: “This made me cry – so beautiful.”
Her sister, @LadyWilloughby, commented: “We’re so emotional today mum – can’t believe it’s finally Wylde Moon Day!”
