Laura beamed as she posed in a bikini for the first time ever yesterday.

She wore a pink leopard print two piece, while she smiled with the blue waters of Mexico behind her.

Laura wore her hair in a bun and styled the look with a pair of shades.

In view of her 204,000 followers, she captioned the post: “Today I wore a bikini on the beach for the first time ever.

“And, for the first time in my entire life, I can honestly say I feel at peace with my body, instead of at war with it.

“It’s not a perfect body but it’s mine, and I want to feel the sun on it.

“#selflove #bodyacceptance #bodyconfidence.”

Friends and fans alike took to the comments to praise the star on her newfound body confidence.

Alison Hammond said: “Beautiful, live your life babs!!” (sic)

Fellow Bake Off star Crystelle Pereira added: “YES LAURA!! We need more of this. You’re phenomenal.”

Onemamband commented: “Look how happy you are! That’s a role model right there xx.”

Last week, the baker revealed she was building up the confidence to wear a bathing suit in public as she snapped a selfie in a swimming costume.

She said: “I’m feeling a bit nervous today about being in a swimming costume around the pool, but I’m trying to remind myself that holidays are a privilege, and that I deserve to be here and take up space.

“I’ve even packed a couple of bikinis!! I’ve told myself it doesn’t matter if I wear them.

“But I’m hoping I can build up the courage to as I have never worn one in all my 32 years.”

Laura recently started a body positive podcast after the shocking body shaming messages she received after her TV debut.

Last year, Laura explained she had been left “heartbroken” by some of the horrific comments sent to her.

She insisted, however: “I’m not going to let some d**khead who doesn’t know the difference between ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ get me down.”

The blonde beauty shared a string of nasty comments, including one she said “broke” her.

The comment read: “You will never have kids as if you’re a whale. Probably the reason you haven’t had them yet.”
