During the latest edition of his “Inside Studio G Facebook Live” series on Tuesday (March 15), Garth Brooks teased that he will be releasing new “Chris Gaines” music.
Brooks also mentioned a recent songwriting session he had with Ashley McBryde.
Responding to a fan’s question about his alter ego Chris Gaines album, Brooks said, “When it comes to Chris Gaines, I can’t tell you anything… except you’re gonna have it in every format you can possibly imagine, even in vinyl.”
“And, you’re gonna have Chris Gaines stuff nobody’s ever heard before either. It’s all comin’… I’m excited, we’ll leave it at that,” he added. “I love the music; it’s really cool.”
About working with McBryde and Mitch Rossell, Brooks said, “We started writing this morning, [and] it was one of those sessions that you’re writing with two people that love country music. I gotta tell ya; today was an amazing day… Me and Mitch [Rossell] just kind of sat and watched her. She’s an animal, man. She just tore it up!”
Brooks, who was cast as fictional Australian rock start Chris Gaines in a film called The Lamb in 1999, had released an album as Gaines a year before the movie’s release. He named the Don Was-produced album Garth Brooks In… The Life Of Chris Gaines.
