Tom Fletcher’s McFly bandmate Harry Judd has spoken about passing on words of wisdom to his friend and author as he prepared to join Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Harry, 35, told how it “didn’t feel right” to give his friend advice, despite having won the dance competition himself 10 years ago.
There’s no point in me sitting back and giving him advice

The star admitted that he hadn’t felt the need to give Tom any tips, adding that he would get everything he needed from his dance partner, Amy Dowden.
Harry said: “I didn’t really give him any advice, he’s a talented performer and musician.
“If he asked for it I’d offer it, but I know on Strictly you’re with a professional and they’ve got all the answers really.”
The drummer explained he gets frequent updates on Tom’s progress throughout the week, even receiving videos of him practicing.
Speaking about his friend, Harry explained: “He’s got an amazing work ethic, he works really hard.
“He sends me his dances during the week and I just always applaud him because they are brilliant and he’s doing so well.
“There’s no point in me sitting back and giving him advice, it doesn’t feel right.
“So far he’s doing brilliantly,” he added.
When asked whether the musician has a shot at winning the coveted Glitterball trophy, Harry admitted that he thinks every celebrity is in with a chance.
He said: “I think everyone has a shot.
“I think it’s a particularly tough year as the level is really high, I think anyone’s got a shot from now.”
Speaking about Tom’s performance, the drummer told how he’s keen to get the most out of the Strictly experience
Harry went on: “He’s in it for the right reasons, to have fun, he’ll want to go as far as he can and experience doing all the different dances.”
Cricket enthusiast Harry has recently teamed up with Booking.com to give sports fans a chance to secure the Ultimate Cricket Stay during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The digital travel company is creating a bespoke cricket-themed airstream glamping stay, complete with a big screen for match viewing.
The accommodation will be available to book for the afternoon and night of Saturday 30 October, when England take on their oldest rivals Australia, in the Super 12 stages of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
Speaking about the experience, Harry said: “To be here today working with Darren Gough promoting the T20 world cup with Booking.com is a real pleasure.
“I was obsessed with cricket from the age of six, it was a huge part of my childhood, I just fell in love with the game.”
On 28 October former England cricketer Darren Gough and fellow Strictly champion and McFly musician Harry Judd launched Booking.com’s T20 Pavilion an Ultimate Cricket Stay, to celebrate the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
