Denise Van Outen has spilled the beans on her outrageous sex life with her former fiancé, Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay.
The former couple met in 1998 when GQ Magazine asked Denise to interview the musician at Silverstone racetrack.
They immediately hit it off and Jay invited Denise back to his house in Buckinghamshire, with things only going from strength to strength.
Denise then ended up spending the whole weekend at Jay’s 11-bedroom house for their second date, after the singer convinced the presenter to stay over at his house on a Sunday evening before she had to be up at 3am for filming for The Big Breakfast.
Writing in her brand new book, A Bit Of Me: From Basildon to Broadway, Denise says it seemed like a good idea until she found herself scrabbling around for her underwear in the early hours of the morning, later realising she couldn’t find them because Jay's pet dog was eating them!
Detailing the incident in her autobiography, the actress and singer confesses: “When the alarm went off in the middle of the night, it didn’t feel like such a good idea, however, by it was too late by then.
“So, sometime after 3am on Monday, I was crawling around Jay’s bedroom floor, rooting around in the dark for my bits and pieces so as not to wake him up.
“It was then that I remembered I’d left my knickers somewhere, but for the life of me, I couldn’t see them. Of course, I knew I had to locate them.
“I mean, I couldn’t leave Jamiroquai’s house knowing I’d left my dirty knickers there, could I?”
The 47 year old, who recently split from her fiancé Eddie Boxshall, continues: “My other concern was that that Jay had a great big Alsatian guard dog called Luga at the time, who slept outside his bedroom. I was also going to have to get down the stairs without him barking and waking up the whole house.
“Peering through the gloom out into the hallway, though, Luga appeared to be entirely preoccupied with some sort of toy or something. As long as I could lay my hands on my discarded knickers, I could get past the hound and out of there without too much bother.
“As I moved closer to the landing outside the bedroom, however, it became horribly clearly exactly what Luga had gotten so involved in.
“He had my knickers in his mouth There he was, snuffling and chewing away at them at the top of the landing.”
Denise then recalls the hilarious moment she had to wrestle with the Alsatian to retrieve her underwear.
She continued: “It culminated with the dog and me in a tug of war on the landing, with me pulling on one end of my knickers, and him snarling and pulling at the other. Not the ending I’d imagined to my first romantic weekend with Jay.
“I somehow managed to get them back in the end, but every time I went to Jay’s house after that, Luga always came straight over to me and jammed his nose in my crotch.
“Then he’d look at me with a face that said: ‘You’re all right! I know you; you’ve been here before.’”
The pair dated for three years and got engaged in February 2000 after the star proposed in an all-you-can-eat pan-Asian restaurant in London’s Islington, despite things in their relationship being far from rosy.
The engagement came after Jay had pretended to jokingly propose on New Year’s Eve 1999 at his house in front of their friends, leaving Denise feeling humiliated.
She says she accepted the proposal because she didn’t know what else to do, so it was no surprise that by 2001 things between them were over and she returned to her flat in Islington.
Denise says she struggled with Jay’s entourage and people always staying at his “mansion”, which she describes as sitting in 80 acres of land and surrounded by lakes.
Jay, 52, has also been open about his cocaine abuse and how it affected their relationship, while Denise also admits he wasn’t supportive of some of her work ventures. She says she even left her job at The Big Breakfast so she could be around for him more.
Denise has also said her relationship with Jay was also partly responsible for her falling out with her good friend Kate Thornton.
The pair didn’t speak for 10 years after a paranoid Denise blamed Kate, who was a features editor at the Sunday Mirror at the time, for a behind-the-scenes story about herself and Jay.
“I’d had private conversations over the phone with her, and I’d sometimes leave her voice messages if I was upset after a row with Jay,” Denise writes. “I jumped to the conclusion that she must have leaked a story about us.”
The star later discovered that she was a victim of phone hacking and that’s how the story came about, but she blames her “paranoia” for blaming Kate.

Denise calls her fall out with the former X Factor host as the “worst thing that happened during this time,” but later goes on to reveal in the book that the pair made up after Denise issued a “huge apology” to Kate.
“In early 2013, I appeared on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, which Kate hosted, and that was when we finally connected again,” writes Denise.
But she adds she still finds it “very sad” that the pair lost a whole 10 years of being in each other’s lives.
