Deborah James kids reacts as Bowelbabe fund reaches huge milestone
Dame Deborah James’s 13-year-old daughter Eloise, who tragically lost her mother to cancer at the age of 40 in June 2022, has revealed she is now carrying her legacy forward.
A year on from her mother’s death, Eloise has now launched her own In The Style collection with the aim to raise money for the Bowelbabe Fund.
BBC podcast presenter Dame Deborah died five years after she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer when she found blood in her stool.
In her last few weeks, she worked tirelessly to raise money for cancer research and was even made a dame by Prince William for her incredible efforts to improve awareness for the disease.
She also managed to raise £6.75million for cancer research, and now her hard work will be continued by Eloise, who has revealed each piece of clothing in her new collection is inspired by her mother.

“I am so excited and proud to be able to do this,” Eloise told the Sun. “I’m walking in my mum’s footsteps and following the path she set for me.”
Her dad Sebastien Bowen, who shares Eloise and 15-year-old son Hugo with his late wife, has said his daughter is doing “exactly” what Dame Deborah would have wanted.
“I am incredibly proud and I know Deborah would be too,” he said.

“It’s exactly what she wanted for Ellie, and it’s a lovely example of how she was determined to do things in those last weeks to set the kids up for later in life.”
He also explained that he wanted to ensure his children had “something really positive to focus on” after his wife’s heartbreaking death.
Eloise proudly added that her mother’s fundraising efforts were an “amazing achievement” and she is very keen to “continue what my mum started”.
While Dame Deborah had already raised £6.75million for cancer research by the time of her sad death, the fund today stands at a staggering £11.3million.
Before her death, she worked with In The Style to create charity t-shirts with the motto “rebellious hope”, as well as a stunning collection of other brightly coloured pieces.
Her daughter Eloise has continued this tradition, opting for designs featuring bold colours and rose patterns to pay tribute to her mother.
She added that it has been a “dream come true” to work with the designer and that her mother, who loved working with In The Style, would be proud of the work she has accomplished.
