Michael Jackson’s ever-changing appearance remains one of the most fascinating parts of the King of Pop’s life. Jackson denied rumors of multiple plastic surgeries, chalking his appearance up to a skin condition.
When Jackson’s kids were revealed to the public and they did not appear to be of mixed race to many, more questions ensued. For years, many questioned if Jackson is the biological father of his three children. He insisted he was, but one actor calls Jackson “delusional.”
Michael Jackson denies changing his appearance with plastic surgery
Jackson’s appearance changed drastically over the years. Not only did his skin complexion go from chocolate to pale, but his features also noticeably changed. The most noticeable include his nose and his hair texture.
Per Jackson, the cause of his skin color changing is due to him having vitiligo – a condition in which the pigment is lost from areas of the skin, causing whitish patches, often with no clear cause. Some medical experts say the condition is worsened by extreme amounts of stress.
As far as Jackson’s other changes, Jackson denied altering his appearance through cosmetic surgery. He seemingly admitted to a nose job to correct a broken nose. He told ABC News in a 2002 interview, “I’ve had no plastic surgery on my face,” he said. “Just my nose. It helped me breathe better so I can hit higher notes.”

Jackson cited his hair changing to his hair catching fire while filming a 1984 Pepsi commercial.
But Jackson’s biographers say otherwise, explaining his image dysmorphia as a result of a painful childhood. Jackson admitted to Oprah Winfrey in a 1994 interview that he suffered from low self-esteem as a result of bad acne and being told he was ugly by his own father. Per Margo Jefferson, Jackson wanted to change his image to rid himself of the little boy he once was.
“The little Michael Jackson, you know, who grew up struggling and suffering and…thinking, ‘I am worthless…except when I can set this crowd going.’ I think he wanted to flee that Michael Jackson completely.”
Michael Jackson addresses his children’s skin tone
Jackson always insisted that his three children – Prince, Paris, and Blanket – were biologically his. Interestingly, the public never saw the children’s faces until Jackson’s funeral as he kept their faces covered while they were in public. Jackson did so in order to protect them from paparazzi.
He once revealed that Prince and Paris were conceived with Debbie Rowe through science – and that Blanket was conceived through a surrogate mother.
Rowe and Paris both confirm Jackson’s account. In an interview after Jackson’s death “Michael was divorced, lonely and wanted children. I offered him my womb, it was a gift. It was something I did to keep him happy.”
There are even family photos with Jackson, Rowe, and their two children.
Michael Jai White says Michael Jackson’s explanation of his appearance and his children is ‘delusional’
For years, many questioned the validity of Jackson’s answers regarding his appearance. Furthermore, many have wondered whether his three children are biologically his as many believe they bear no resemblance to Jackson or his family – nor do they appear to be biracial to some. Jackson has always stood firm that his children are biologically his.
But actor Michael Jai White doesn’t buy Jackson’s story. In fact, he considers Jackson to be “delusional” and says Jackson’s fans are so loyal to him that they ignore the obvious. White expressed his opinions during a recent sit down with Vlad TV.

“Some things just ring absolutely delusional, like ‘Oh, I’ve only had one nose job,’ or ‘These are my children’ – you’re darker than me dude,” White says about Jackson. “Do people forget that Michael Jackson is darker than me with negro features? That’s what he really looks like.”
White says that other celebrities would not get a pass on creating the same narrative, using the example of comedian Eddie Murphy saying a blond-haired and blue-eyed child is biologically his. According to White, there would be more backlash.
Vlad takes things a step further, noting that most of the Jackson clan have biracial children whose appearance validates such. White agrees and says Jackson is believed blindly due to his star power.
