A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton, 39, has opened up some of her most frustrating moments while presenting the hit Channel 4 property show. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the star revealed that the search for the perfect property in the sun wasn’t always straightforward, as a handful of house-hunters refused to work with the property guru on securing their dream home abroad.
And it’s like, ‘I wish you’d listened!’

Laura revealed that her most common annoyance was when house-hunters attempted to enter into negotiations by themselves.
Forgoing the help and advice of the Channel 4 property experts, the fitness guru addressed her frustration at house-hunters losing out on properties because they didn’t ‘listen’.
Speaking about such moments, the blonde bombshell admitted that it’s happened more than once.
She said: “I think just situations where people, this has happened a couple of times, where you’re sitting with the couple and say, ‘This property is a really good price’.”
However, despite being given Laura’s expert opinion on the value of the property, a handful of house-hunters wanted to do things their way.
Laura continued: “They’ll be like, ‘No, we want to negotiate by ourselves’ and then they put their offer on the table or they dont put an offer in at all”.
The star explained that due to house-hunters often taking too long to decide, their dream property is all too often snapped up.
The star said: “They then walk away and I later find out that they tried to put a lower offer in, it didn’t get accepted but someone has come along and bought it.
“And it’s like, ‘I wish you’d listened!’, the presenter admitted frustratedly.
“Because you know, we are the experts on the show”, Laura added.
The mother-of-two kick-started her career in property when she was just 19.
She has now completed over 15 successful property renovations including transforming her local village shop into a restaurant and deli, as well as creating two residential properties.
However, the star previously set the record straight on why she’s decided it’s time to sell her and her husband Alex’s Goward’s family business.
Laura bought the dilapidated building four years ago and worked hard to renovate it into a successful venture.
However, the A Place In The Sun presenter has now decided to put the property on the market.
The star went on to say that she came to the decision to sell as it’s what she’s done with all her other property investments.
Laura said: “The reason why we’re selling the shop is because everything that I’ve done [with property] since I was 19 is buying and selling.”
The property expert also revealed that it’s best to sell a property with “a little bit of potential for the buyer to make it their own”.
“If there’s an opportunity to put a loft extension in, they can further add value,” she continued.
However, despite it being a purely business-based decision, Laura admitted that it was bittersweet to leave the business behind after four years.
A Place In The Sun is on weekdaays on Channel 4 at 4pm.
