There's a Brand New Mini Cake in the Costco Bakery & It Tastes Like Apples & Caramel

Trader Joe’s and Aldi get a lot of love for their seasonal treats, and it’s easy to see why. But for the best and biggest deals on seasonal baked goods, cakes, pies, muffins and more, Costco is the place to be. Costco members (sign up here) know that the bakery aisle works a kind of magic on shoppers, enticing them with things like its nearly 4-pound pumpkin pie for just $5.99, and who can resist the pumpkin streusel muffins? But if you’re not a pumpkin fan, then we have exciting news. Costco just introduced a brand new fall dessert item, and there’s no pumpkin to be seen. Introducing: Caramel Apple Mini Cakes.

Costco fan account CostcoHotFinds shared this new dessert on social media, calling the caramel apple mini cakes “incredibly soft” and saying that “the frosting is amazing!” “These are so good,” replied one commenter. Another account, CostcoBuys, posted about the caramel apple mini cakes, replying to a commenter who said “they’re amazing,” “Right?? I’m super happy with them.”

So what are they? The sweets feature a soft caramel cake that’s topped with a decadent condensed milk frosting. There’s a dollop of apple pie filling on top, and then the whole thing is drizzled in caramel. Basically, it’s like your favorite autumn carnival dessert in cake form.

Six packs of the new caramel apple mini cakes are available to Costco members for $8.99. That’s a pretty great deal, especially considering how many people say they can get two servings out of what Costco brands a “mini” cake!

Costco seems to cycle through different mini cake flavors pretty regularly throughout the year, and we’re not sure how long this flavor will be in stores. If you want to get a chance to try Costco’s mini caramel apple cakes, you might want to stock up now, before they inevitably get switched out for something new. Then again, if Costco brings back the gingerbread mini cakes, we won’t complain!
