Carol Kirkwood speaks to Zoe Ball about her writing process
BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has finally opened up about her wedding plans 15 months after her fiancé Steve Randall popped the question.
The BBC Breakfast star got engaged in May, 2022, to the man who is 13 years her junior after the pair embarked on a new relationship back in 2021.
The 61-year-old star was previously married to cricket player Jimmy Kirkwood for 25 years between 1990 and 2008.
In a new interview, Carol confirmed that she does have plans for an “intimate” wedding with Steve – although the pair are yet to confirm a date.
“Yes, I do want to get married again,” she told OK! Magazine. “We’re very happy and we’re loved up, and we’re delighted to be together but we haven’t got a wedding date yet.

Speaking to Closer magazine, she revealed she wasn’t expecting to get into a relationship at the time she and Steve got together.
She explained: “We were friends before we became romantically involved so we knew each other quite well before we started dating.
“That was nice because it just kind of happened,” Carol reminisced happily.
“Neither of us were looking for romance and there it was, it just evolves. It’s so lovely.
“Who’d have thought that at this ripe old age, I’d be getting married again? I certainly didn’t.”
Carol also gushed about having “so much to look forward to in the next 20 years”.
“My fiancé is very handsome,” she said. “He’s very kind and caring and he makes me laugh.
“Steve’s a good cook too. He’s all I could ever want. In my eyes he’s perfect,” she added.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
