How plane food compares in business class and economy on airlines including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic – The Sun

PLANE food can be one of the worst parts of flying, with passengers complaining about everything from flavourless meals and sad-looking snacks.

However, the cabin class you're flying in can make a huge difference to what you're being served.

Of course, they generally get better the more you pay for your flight.

But are they really fancy enough to worth the extra money you're paying?

According to Nicky from The Points Guy UK, depending on the airline, the difference may not be as big as you think.

On Emirates for example, both economy and business class meals are served on proper dishes and not foil trays.

See for yourself – we've rounded up what passengers have been served in economy and business class cabins on popular airlines in the UK.

Great meal on our Qantas business class flight!Depending on what you feel like there are lighter options like a cheese platter or soup, or you can have a full meal like this wonderful Humpty Doo Barramundi.Served with beautiful crusty bread and salted butter, this Barramundi was lovely washed down with some sake and a red wine. There are several dessert options but I chose a fruit platter and some cheese. Some dessert wine to wash it down and I was a happy lady! @qantas @qantaswine #qantasbusinessclass #businessclass #businessclassflyer #relaxingflight #luxury #luxurylifestyle #businessclassdinner #barramundi #sake #crustybread #saltedbutter #redwine #fruitplatter #cheese #upstairsbusinessclass

Can you make plane food taste better?

According to an Oxford professor, wearing noise-cancelling headphones can make food taste better during a flight.

This is because low-pitched noises, such as the engine, can make meals taste more bitter.

One celebrity swears by putting Tabasco sauce on plane food to prevent it from being too bland.

Picking meal options like stews, casseroles or fried rice can help as they can withstand being reheated.

And when it comes to desserts, ice cream is your best bet.

We also revealed some of the best meals served in First Class.

One woman revealed what really goes on behind the scenes of in-flight meals.
