THE Courtyard by Marriott is a modern hotel set in the heart of historic Oxford.
With a rooftop terrace overlooking Oxford’s skyline, this canal-side hotel makes the most of its fantastic location.

The Courtyard by Marriott – with rooms starting at £55 – is based in Oxford’s city centre within walking distance of the city's many cultural landmarks.
The Courtyard is a short walk or bus ride away from Oxford’s train station.
The hotel is easily accessible by car, although drivers should be aware of driving restrictions in the centre of Oxford.
There is off-site parking for cars which costs £25 per day.

Courtyard by Marriott is a sleek modern hotel with a red-brick exterior.
Opened in 2019, the hotel has 150 stunningly spacious rooms ranging from king-size doubles to junior suites.
Overlooking the ruins of Oxford Castle’s St George’s Tower, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the city's attractions.
With easy access to Oxford's sights and some fab package deals for trips out, there’s plenty here to make your getaway special.
3.What to do at Courtyard by Marriott?
Guests can now book a series of new staycation packages at the Courtyard which include either a Picnic, Yoga lesson, Blenheim Palace Experience, Oxford River Cruise or a Walking Tour.
On our visit, we booked the Picnic Package which included a picnic hamper full of seasonal Oxford produce to take to the park or on the city’s famous punting boats.
One night's Picnic Package starts at £75pp based on two sharing.
Another great option is the Yoga Package, in which you’ll get a one-on-one yoga class overlooking Oxford's Castle on the roof terrace with an instructor from Prana Yoga – costing £80pp based on two sharing.
For visitors wanting to take in the city, Oxford Castle and The Ashmolean – the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology – are both nearby.
Keen gardeners can take a short stroll to Oxford’s Botanic Gardens or to the Christ Church Meadow for a wander by the river.
For those interested in the university, the Bodleian Library and Oxford colleges are just a stone’s throw away.
4.What is there to eat and drink at Courtyard by Marriott?
The hotel’s Kitchen & Bar Restaurant serves modern English fare.
During our stay, we enjoyed a light fish starter and main of prawns and chorizo then sea bass and summer veg followed by deconstructed blueberry cheesecake for dessert.
For breakfast there’s a full English to set you up for the day.
5.What are the rooms like at Courtyard by Marriott?
All the Courtyard’s rooms have fresh modern decor, rainfall showers, a Nespresso machine and smart TV with Chromecast.
The best rooms overlook the canal and castle with large windows to take in the view.
