Iceland is one of the best countries for seeing the Northern Lights, and thanks to Icelandair you won’t need to break the bank to explore for yourself!
The airline has launched huge discounts on return flights to capital Reykjavik, with prices starting from £99pp with routes from London and Manchester. There are also discounted fares from Glasgow, with prices starting at £119pp.
The deals are available on the Icelandair website but you’ll need to be quick as the sale ends at 11.59pm on Tuesday 27th November.
The fares are based on an Economy Light ticket which offers carry-on baggage only – although you do get a 10kg allowance.
The best part is that the deals are valid on flights from January through to April, which coincides perfectly with the peak season for a chance to see the Northern Lights.
In Iceland, this starts in late September and carries on through to March.
You won’t need to venture too far out either, as Reykjavik boasts a handy location right by brilliant Northern Lights viewing spots.
In fact, there are plenty of dedicated day tours and excursions to help you increase your chances. Oh, and make sure to check out this photographer’s top tips for getting that dream shot!
Staying in Reykjavik won’t be a bank-breaking experience either, as there are plenty of cheap hotels to be found. For example, Lastminute.com has hotel rooms from £49 per night, or for a dose of inspiration TripAdvisor has a round-up of some of the city’s best cheap hotels.
It’s not just flights to Iceland being included in the airline’s sale.
In fact, Icelandair is also slashing prices on returns to the USA with fares from less than £300 including destinations such as Boston, New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
However, it’s worth noting that these all include a stopover in Iceland – if it’s direct flights you’re after, then check out our round-up of the best Cyber Monday airline sales with plenty more deals.
