An age gap couple has proved doubters wrong to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary.
Edna Martin, 83, and her husband Simon, 45, have triumphed against critics who didn’t think their relationship would last.
The pensioner spoke about how smitten she is with her young partner on the Real Fix podcast.
She said: "When you love each other as much as Simon and I, it's reasonably impossible to keep your hands off each other – let alone other bits of your anatomy.
"We often have a little kiss in the supermarket queue or pinch each other's bums.
"Most people have a little chuckle or smile. It's quite sweet really.”
Edna added: "Simon and I both think and feel that there is not enough love in this world – it's lovely to love someone and be loved and to express that love."
Meanwhile, Simon commented: "We're very lucky we still enjoy a marvellous physical relationship.
"It's really wonderful that we can express our love publicly – not for other people, but for ourselves.
"It's very rare to see a couple of any age giving each other a loving peck or showing their affection."
The age gap couple met at a concert in 2003.
Edna, a mum-of-two, was working as a secretary for a local theatre organ club.
She was drawn to organist Simon as as she welcomed him into the venue.
In an interview last year, Simon recalled: "Ed opened the door and it was love at first sight.
"She was standing there in a nice, black suit and she opened her arms.
"We literally fell into each other's arms. I thought to myself 'She's a bit of alright'."
The pair exchanged letters and phone calls in the following months and occasionally ran into each other at organ concerts around the UK.
Edna recalled: "We both share a passion for organ music and moved around in similar circles.
"I kept hearing about this 'funny little man' named Simon Martin and I thought our paths will have to cross at some point.
"Eventually we were introduced by a friend and after a polite chat I kissed him on the cheek.
"Then he embraced me and I said to our mutual friend 'He likes hugs, doesn't he?' I thought at that moment 'I don't want to let him go.'
"Before we were together he would talk to me for five hours at night over the phone and when he came to stay he would play Goodnight, Sweetheart on the electronic organ every single night. I cried every time."
After weeks of sparks flying, they confirmed their romance by kissing beneath Weston-super-Mare pier after a concert.
The couple dated for months, before going public with their relationship in 2005.
Even though trolls criticised the pairing, Edna and Simon later tied the knot.
They have since enjoyed more than 16 years together – and don't worry about what other people think.
Previously, Edna said: "We are still intimate in the bedroom as much as any couple in love.
"We'll often stop in the street and have a damn good kiss – I've never felt conscious of the age gap in public."
Simon told the Real Fix podcast that he doesn't have to try to keep the marriage exciting.
He revealed: "We don't consciously do anything to keep our relationship fresh – it's just the way we are.
"We share a similar sense of humour."
Simon has given advice for anyone in an age gap relationship, adding: "Just enjoy yourselves.
"Don't take any notice of what anybody says or what you hear in the media or anything – it's all rubbish.
"At the end of the day, it's just about the two of you."
