And she’s still Wilde about her mom.
Actress Olivia Wilde shared a feels-inducing Instagram post after her mom, journalist Leslie Cockburn, conceded Virginia’s 5th District to Denver Riggleman, a man Cockburn previously slammed as “a devotee of Bigfoot erotica.”
“My incredible mother speaking to her supporters, thanking them for their tireless work, and urging them all to stay determined,” Wilde, 34, captioned the image of her mother onstage, microphone in hand. “We may have lost this fight, but it’s only made us more resolute.”
Wilde encouraged her close to 3 million followers not to give up.
“It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work,” she continued. “A lot of progress was made tonight and we need to keep the blue wave rolling!”
She concluded with words of praise for those that helped with her mother’s bid.
“I’m sending all my love to everyone who worked on this campaign,” she added. “You restored my faith in this country.”
