After a Full Moon in Aries, New Moon in Libra and rare Blue Moon in Taurus October, the Moon has gone through its phases and is coming back to a New Moon in a matter of days. Express.co.uk reveals the horoscope for the New Moon in November 2020, with the help of Moon Mentor Kirsty Gallagher (@kirsty_gallagher_) and her book Lunar Living: Working with the Magic of the Moon Cycles.

A New Moon is all about deciding on what you want in life and moving forward.

Every month when it’s a New Moon, you can use the Moon’s energy to push you into a new beginning.

Each New Moon is different because the Moon moves between the 12 zodiac signs every two and a half days.

This is why you’ll hear people say things like ‘the New Moon in Aries’ or ‘the Full Moon in Sagittarius’.

We all know our star signs, and when the Moon is in our Sun or Moon sign we will feel the energy more.

However, the Moon brings different lessons and challenges depending on what sign it’s in.

Kirsty wrote in her book: “As a general guide, the watery signs take us into our emotional realms, the earth signs into grounding and facing reality, the fire signs bring passion and enthusiasm and the air signs help us to dream and vision.”

A New Moon is always in the same sign as the zodiac sign we are in, since the sun and moon are aligned in the sky.

The Full Moon, however, will always be in the sign opposite to the current sun sign because the moon is on the opposite side of the earth to the sun at this time.

New Moon horoscope November 2020

You may be feeling the energy of this New Moon already, Kirsty said.

She explained: “The run up to this moon is going to feel quite intense – exhaustion, lack of clear direction or purpose, emotions running high, mood running low – we are really being taken into the watery depths.

“Surrender into it all. Please don’t try to fight against what you are feeling.

“The Dark Moon phase is pulling you deep down into stillness, rest, quiet and inner contemplation so that you can be ready once the new moon comes, because you need to be ready.”

A Scorpio New Moon is really intense and asks you to look at your emotions and what you’re hiding.

Kirsty said: “This powerful New Moon is bringing a potent opportunity for transformation, beginning with that deep dive into the depths of yourself and your emotions, into the shadows, the hidden and the unknown.

“This New Moon is going to bring deep raw emotions to the surface, and alongside them a huge opportunity for healing and personal transformation.

“This New Moon is going to provide one of the most transformational turning points of 2020 and an ability to alchemise all that you have learned and been through this year into a powerful driving force to move you forwards.”

You need to use this time to look back on the last year during this New Moon, Kirsty said.

She explained: “This moon asks you to now look back over this crazy period that we have all been living in and to really get to the bottom of what you have discovered about yourself, your life and your world in 2020.

“What challenges have you faced and overcome? What fears have you faced?

“What did the Mercury and Mars retrogrades teach you about the many ways in which you have given away you power, not stood in your power or allowed fears or your shadows to hold you back?”

While you may have had a rough few months, you’ll realise now that “life is too short not to live in your full passion, purpose, truth and alignment.”

This Moon will be very transformative for everyone, particularly Scorpios or those with a Scorpio Moon and the other water signs.

Kirsty said: “Scorpio, the alchemist, magician, shaman of the zodiac is here to bring a forward surge of energy into your own power and living a life of passion and purpose.

“The sign of death and rebirth your new life may cost you your old one. Are you ready?

“Are you truly ready to let go of who you were to become who you are meant to be?”

It’s time to step into a new you, and this could involve saying no, leaving people behind, and disturbing the status quo.

Kirsty added: “It’s going to mean dropping your stories and blame and no longer being able to hide behind your doubts and fears and shadows.

“It’s going to mean changing your beliefs and being in your power, showing up fully and completely and authentically as you.”

Kirsty advises journaling around a New Moon and reflecting on the following questions:

  • What deep raw emotions have been surfacing in the run up to this moon and what have they been showing you?
  • Looking back over this year what challenges have you faced and overcome? What fears have you faced? How have you grown?
  • What did Mars retrograde show you about ways in which you have given away your power or not stood in your power?
  • What did Mercury retrograde show you about how you allow your fears or your shadows to hold you back?
  • What are you willing to let go of in order to be who you are meant to be and have all that you deserve to have?
