DEAR DEIDRE: I PULLED out all the stops for my girlfriend at the weekend with a surprise dinner, wine, candles and a bubble bath. It didn’t go to plan.
The dinner was fine but the bath idea fell flat. She said she wasn’t in the mood.
It’s not the first time she’s killed the mood and I was upset.
We live two hours’ apart and meet up as much as we can given we have busy jobs and personal lives.
It was the first chance we’d had in a long time for romance.
I’m 27 and she’s 25. We’ve been together for six months.
Surely we can do better than just hooking up after boozing.

DEIDRE SAYS: The romantic overtures may have pressured her.
Ask her to think out loud about the possible reasons and promise you will just listen.
Perhaps something is worrying her and is dampening her sex drive, or maybe the sex hasn’t been as great for her as for you.
But it can be sorted. Read my e-leaflet Has She Gone Off Sex? for help.
