Kate Ferdinand’s pregnancy journey from adorable moment she told husband Rio’s kids to beautiful baby bump reveal

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Kate Wright recently took to Instagram to reveal that she will be welcoming her first child with husband Rio Ferdinand.

Sharing a sweet video, the 29 year old blonde star penned: “The crazy house is about to get a little bit crazier.

“Every time I watch this it makes me cry, the best reaction. Baby Ferdy we are all so excited to meet you.”

The baby will be the first child for adorable pair Rio and Kate – who married in 2019 – and the way the fitness fanatic and Rio revealed the news was simply adorable, with Rio's three kids sharing their complete joy by bouncing around the room and hugging each other.

Prior to announcing her pregnancy, Kate expressed worry that she "wouldn’t cope" with a baby. She discussed her concern about switching from being step mum to Rio's children to becoming a mother to a newborn baby just four months ago.

Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast back in February, Kate said: "I'm not going to be able to cope!

"I said to Rio, 'Say if we have a baby, once they get to five I'm going to be great. I know what I'm doing guys, it's fine. But that baby stage, I don't know'.

"I said, 'Rio, I've never changed a nappy'. He was like, 'What?!' But I haven't had children and I don't have brothers and sisters. I don't have nieces and nephews.

"He was like, 'Wow'. I said, 'Well you can change them, because you've had three!' He said, 'I don't think so!'"

The stunning blonde added: "It's going to be a big adjustment, because I feel like I know the older stage of being a mum but not to a newborn."

Here’s a look at the star’s pregnancy timeline so far…

Baby reveal

The pregnancy reveal began as Kate, Rio, 41, and his children Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine, huddled around the table at their stunning home, with the kids unaware that they were being filmed.

The kids can be seen pointing at photos of themselves whilst Kate and Rio smile away.

Next, Rio’s son can be heard reading from a book: “Before we used to argue every day of the week, now for the next chapter…” he says, before the message sinks in that Kate is pregnant.

Kate Ferdinand cleverly hid her baby bump for months before announcing she's pregnant with first child

Kate, who recently pranked Rio during a home workout, sweetly told the kids: "I'm pregnant," and then showed them her bump, adding: "Have you not noticed guys?"

The kids jumped up and bounced around, with Tia hugging her brother before they all go and hug their dad and step mum Kate.

A smiling Kate, who wore her blonde locks in tumbling curls in the picture, wrote: "Happy Father’s Day to you @rioferdy5 you are the best daddy to Lorenz, Tate & Tia ….(& Ronnie)," giving a mention to their dog, Ronnie.

"Can’t wait for our next chapter. Let’s celebrate you today."

A week after announcing the news that she's expecting a baby, Kate updated her fans on how she is feeling.

The star revealed that though she is more tired, she is feeling good and has eased off on her usual intense workouts.

She revealed to the MailOnline: “I think being pregnant it does change, you are a bit more tired at times but I try to stay active as it's good for my mind.
