Jennifer Saunders, 62, started her acting career after she graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with her best friend and comedy partner, Dawn French. The pair co-wrote and starred in their sketch show, French and Saunders, which they won a BAFTA Fellowship for in 2009. How much has the comedian earned over the years?

In 2011, Jennifer wrote and appeared in Uptown Downstairs Abbey, the Comic Relief parody of Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs.

A year later, the actress guest-starred in Dead Boss, a BBC Three comedy set in the fictional Broadmarsh prison where she plays a cruel governor, Margaret.

She also added to her bank balance by writing the script for the Spice Girls-based jukebox musical called Viva Forever!.

The actress has also had a number of roles in films including In the Bleak Midwinter, Muppet Treasure Island and Fanny & Elvis.

Jennifer made cameo appearances in several films as well, such as the Spice Girls’ film Spice World in 1997, and Absoulment fabuleux, a French film based on Absolutely Fabulous.

For the animated movie Shrek 2 in 2004, Jennifer provided the character voice of Princess Fiona’s evil Fairy Godmother and sang many of the soundtrack songs.

It reportedly took her four days to record and she proceeded to make around £300million in just three weeks in the US.

She has voiced multiple cartoon characters over the years including Miss April Spink in Coraline, Elizabeth II in the Minions movie, and Nana Noodleman in Sing.

Jennifer also has a number of books and published her autobiography, Bonkers: My Life in laughs, in 2013.

In her personal life, Jennifer married Ade Edmonson in 1985.

The couple have three daughters together and now have four grandchildren.

Jennifer and Ade live on their Devonshire farm in the upmarket village of Chagford.
