One of the biggest trends in beauty at the moment is the "Fox eye” make-up technique, which uses eyeshadow and eyeliner to extend the eyes and give them a Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid-inspired lifted look.

But before you go faffing around with an eyeshadow brush, there may be an even simpler way of lifting your eyes to get a model makeover, by using concealer only.

  • Fox eyes is the huge new beauty trend sweeping social media – here's everything you need to know

Interested? Apparently so are 4.5 million others, as a simple TikTok tutorial video uploaded by a user named Daniel has racked up that many views so far. And all it involves is placing your concealer in a clever way.

In the short video, which Daniel captions “The art of catfish: concealer trickery”, he shows fans that by putting a dot of concealer on the inner corner of the eye, in an upwards strike from the outer corner of the eye, and in a thin line down the side of the nose, you’ll get a much more lifted appearance than by just covering the under eyes in a heavy layer of concealer.

Daniel also brings the concealer down to the corner of his lips, where he applies another stroke in an upwards motion. Once he’s done blending the lines out with a make-up brush, Daniel shows the results of this concealer trick on one side of his face, and how it compares to the other side – where he applied concealer in the standard swipe underneath the eyes.

The finished result is meant to mimic popular non-surgical brow lift treatments, which can be achieved with botox injections or a thread lift. Though it’s never been confirmed, it’s thought by some that both Kendall and Bella may have used a non-surgical method to give their brows a little lift.

But with botox prices starting at around £250 for one area, and thread lifts from around £500, this hack, which can be done using any concealer you have in your make-up bag, is definitely a cheaper way of copying the model look.

We’ll be giving it a go first thing tomorrow.
