Zoë Kravitz is so chill, even her engagement ring is laid-back.
The actress, 29, has been quietly sporting the sparkler since February without anyone noticing — until a Rolling Stone reporter remarked on it while interviewing Kravitz for the magazine’s November cover story.
“Oh yeah, I’m engaged,” the “Big Little Lies” star told the writer. “I haven’t told anyone yet — I mean, I haven’t told the world. I wanted to keep it private.” Her fiancé is actor Karl Glusman, whom Kravitz has been dating since 2016.
“Zoë’s ring is a round, bezel-set center stone of approximately two carats,” Shane Co.‘s VP of merchandise Alicia Davis (who did not create Kravitz’s ring) told Page Six Style. “The center stone is accented by smaller, graduated round diamonds set in milgrain bezels.”
Although Davis hasn’t inspected Kravitz’s ring up close, she noted, “A two-carat center stone diamond of high quality like Zoë’s typically runs around $36,000.”
According to the gem expert, the bezels on Kravitz’s sparkler “makes the entire ring’s focus on the stones, since the milgrain softens the gold.” It also helps protect those precious diamonds, she added, and is ideal for brides-to-be with active lifestyles who prefer an engagement ring that sits low on the hand.
“He nailed it,” Kravitz told Rolling Stone of the ring Glusman selected.
Glusman also scored points on his low-key proposal: After an elaborate plan to pop the question in Paris crumbled, the 30-year-old “Nocturnal Animals” star lit candles and played Nina Simone for Kravitz in the living room of their shared apartment.
Kravitz was wearing sweatpants and “a little drunk” at the time, she admitted.
