The tricks that will ensure your make-up lasts ALL day, from shaving your face to mixing highlighter with setting spray
Luckily for us, beauty fans around the globe have been sharing their top tips for ensuring makeup stays on all day.
A top tip filled Reddit thread has left us with some crazy beauty ideas that we'll be definitely be trying, and we've got some of our own too.
Here are the best ones…
Wetting your sponge with setting spray
Most of us have already heard about the benefits of setting spray – if not, grab one ASAP.
Urban Decay's All Nighter is one of the best to control oil and it ensures everything stays where it's meant to.

If you're a fan of the dewy finish a Beauty Blender (Beauty Bay, £15.50, buy now) gives you – try adding some setting spray to the sponge after wetting it with water.
It will give your foundation the longevity you need and make it last all day.
Shaving your face
It's not all it seems, and we don't mean that you should whack out the Gillette Venus and shaving foam.
Beauty entrepreneur Huda Kattan has shared her love of Dermaplaning, and so has fellow beauty YouTuber Chloe Morello.
The procedure is considered a kind of facial, and is already pretty popular here in the UK.
It involves a sharp blade removing all the 'peach fuzz' and dead skin cells from your face.
This leaves you with a smooth base for any products, and the popularity of the procedure among make-up artists is a testament to its effectiveness.
Not piling the powder on oily skin
We know, at first this sounds ridiculous – powder is meant to matte out shiny faces.
But if you're patting on layer after layer of powder when some oil comes through on the usual offending areas, it quickly builds up, 'cakes', and eventually cracks.
A full coverage matte finish foundation paired with pressed or loose powder is too much, and can actually worsen your skin's condition.

A Reddit user stated she would "rather be shiny but still have a smooth finish, than be matte with cracks and breaks all through my foundation".
If you keep your foundation relatively light and don't layer on the powder (a little is okay) – then it will be easier for you to touch up throughout the day if you keep some concealer and a buffing brush on you.
Mixing highlighter with setting spray
Not only does this hack freshen up your face thanks to the settings spray, it will give you a heavenly all over glow.
We recommend using a travel-size setting spray with a clear bottle (so you can see how pretty it is) such as MAC Fix+.
All you need to do is add some crushed up highlighter powder of your choice (or a shimmery pigment), give it a shake, and voila!
Spray it all over your face and torso and it'll give you a glow that will mask the oily look and help the products you already had on stay there for longer.
Applying lip liner all over your lips
It's not just your skin that needs priming – lips benefit from it, too.
A Reddit user stated that she applies her lip liner all over her lips before putting lipstick on top.
The tip truly works – applying lipstick without any liner beforehand is truly a beauty crime.
