Easy Outfits: I’m Obsessed With Neutrals, but This $37 Sweater Has Me Color Obsessed

Sweaters for Fall are about as groundbreaking as florals for Spring, but that hardly means we love them less for that reason. I myself am rather sweater obsessed and often make the case for new styles in my wardrobe every season. From simple black sweaters to trendier versions, I’m all about experimentation when it comes to knits, whether it’s rethinking a classic style or embracing a new design detail, silhouette, or color. This month, a pretty pink sweater from the latest POPSUGAR collection at Kohl’s drop caught my eye and encouraged me to step outside my neutral comfort zone (if you were wondering, I’m fiercely loyal to black, ivory, camel, and gray), leading me to a newfound easy outfit formula that I’m obsessed with for Fall.

Going full-on color fanatic, I layered the open-weave knit atop a floral-print dress and topped off my look with a coordinating pink leather jacket. Since that’s a whole lot of color for one neutral-loving lady like myself, I went with a minimal white bag and mules to finish. As if that weren’t enough experimentation for one day, I leaned into the vibe a little further with a rich berry lip, which happens to be the Beauty by POPSUGAR Be Racy Liquid Velvet Lip ($24) in Berry Nice. The result was an instant hit at the office, which encouraged me to try it for dinner and drinks after that. For more of a casual spin, I let the sweater hang long and loose over my hips with the same accessories, though I highly recommend subbing in boots or sneakers if mules feel too fussy.

Whether you are all about color or, like me, have a willingness to embrace new shades, ahead, shop the sweater-and-dress outfit formula I’m obsessed with for Fall. Then, be sure to check back as we continue to bring you more easy Fall outfit formulas, from stylish slip skirt outfits to polished trends you can wear to work and cute looks that center on boots.
