Camilla appeared with Charles at the event in February 2005. She showed off her engagement ring when the pair arrived for a party at Windsor Castle.

Wearing a red dress and an enormous smile, Camilla’s sparkling necklace was relegated to the background.

It was 35 years and many headlines since Camilla and Charles first began their close relationship.

The pair appeared thrilled to be finally making plans to marry, with Charles dressed in a tuxedo, his jacket collar red to match with Camilla’s dress.

The bride-to-be’s necklace for the occasion was a style the now-Duchess is hugely fond of.

It’s a multi-strand pearl necklace with a diamond and amethyst clasp.

The pretty clasp is suspended on three strands of pearls, and the purple centre stone is lozenge shape.

Not knew for the occasion, Camilla has been wearing the piece since 2000 and it is likely one she bought herself or a previous gift from the prince.

Camilla has worn this necklace less in recent years, preferring to stick to her signature piece, pearls with a plan diamond clasp.

Amethyst has been used in the past to bring calmness and peace.

It is often used for medication by practisers.

Interestingly, the colour has many the stone is associated with nobility and the Royal Family.

As Camilla would soon be entering the Royal Family on her marriage to Charles, it was an apt choice.

Camilla wore a similar necklace early into her marriage with another bright a colourful stone.

It’s a three-strand pearl choker with an aquamarine clasp and Camilla was worn this piece to a number of events.
