Bloke on a budget turns ‘scabby’ bathroom into gorgeous ‘hotel inspired’ space with bargain buys from B&M and Dunelm – The Sun

GETTING your bathroom at home to look like one from a posh hotel is something most of us can only dream about.

But one determined DIY fan, Ben Wright, and his other half, Roxanne Bianco, managed to bring their fantasy to life, turning a dingy old bathroom into a fancy sanctuary.

What's more, the project didn't break the bank, with Roxanne sourcing amazing bargain buys from Amazon, the Range and B&M with a budget of £600.

Ben proudly displayed the result of his handiwork on Facebook, posting photos of the impressive bathroom transformation on the group DIY on a Budget UK.

He wrote: "I’ve just completed my third ever and arguably the toughest project yet, turning my dingy, scabby, little bathroom into a hotel inspired bathroom, complete with fancy shower and vanity unit.

"I reckon we’ve still saved thousands by shopping around and doing it ourselves!

"At times, we doubted the decision to do it ourselves. There were hurdles, many of them along the way! Leak after leak!"

From the tiling to fitting a new toilet, the couple did everything themselves, buying materials from Screwfix and Amazon.

However, doing the whole thing themselves came with many challenges,, with Ben and Roxanne struggling to tackle decades-old plumbing and dodgy flooring.

He said: "The plumbing work hadn’t been touched in over 40 years which meant every time I so much as breathed in the direction of some of the old joins, they’d happily just start leaking.

"At one point the ceiling collapsed in the room below! I’ve picked up many skills in the last six months so it wasn’t a huge deal and wasn’t long before it was patched up! Hugely stressful though!"

This wasn't the first time the couple have taken on an ambitious project – they've set about doing up a whole house, documenting the whole process on their Instagram page.

The couple's stunning bathroom renovation went down a storm on Facebook, receiving hundreds of likes and comments.

One woman gushed: "OMG this is amazing, looks absolutely great!"

Another said: "Looks amazing, come and do mine!"
