Natalie Desselle Reid has sadly passed away at the young age of 53, according to reports.
Her manager, Dolores Robinson, who is also the mother of Holly Robinson Peete, shared the news on social media.
Holly added a tribute herself, writing, “Just absolutely decimated by this news..
Actress Natalie Desselle, a bright shining star passed away this morning. I got to know her when my mom was managing her. She will be so missed…sending out prayers to her children and husband. Rest In Peace, Sweet Girl.”
A statement from Natalie‘s family, via TMZ, revealed that Natalie died of colon cancer after having been diagnosed earlier this year. She was reportedly in hospice care in her final days.
“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife,” the family shared in a statement.
Natalie is most known for her role opposite Halle Berry in the 1997 movie B.A.P.S. and also had a recurring role on the UPN sitcom Eve. She also starred in Madea’s Big Happy Family and was one of the stepsisters in Brandy‘s Cinderella movie.
